I sat in the drive thru for about fifteen minutes. It single lane, tight wrap around each side of the building. Only when I arrive at the window to pay, and no sooner; is there a sign saying "We don't accept $ 100s." I explain I only have a hundred, and that my change would be four $ 20's, that they get often. I apologize, and explain that they failed to notify me prior to the line and should make the exception, considering they're frequently handed 20s, and the total in the building will not rise or fall if they accept my US Currency and make change. They refused, and held the food hostage.
I became less polite fast. I put the car in park and said I would block the single file, long line until the police came and end their sales. The cashier Jackie was completely fine with that outcome, and not having to work for a bit. I asked for her manager, who was also completely fine with that outcome. After 2 minutes of us bickering, my passenger asked me to end the issue. I paid with a 29% interest credit card, ultimately paying more for my meal and the Chic Fil A earned less because of processing fees. Everyone lost.
Had my passenger not made the request, I would have stayed parked, and blocked all the cars in a single file lane. I would have shut down that drive thru for 20-40 minutes, then agreed to leave and explained to the officer that I had just been trying to pay for my food with US Currency, and that the cashier is too stupid to just give me four $ 20s back as change.
What businesses management willingly chooses to let a customer shut down a drive thru on principle, over just making change effortlessly? They're regularly paid with $ 20s, it wouldn't change cash on hand, cash stored in a safe, ect. A single exception to the policy they negligently didn't post pre 15 minute wait, would not have changed this locations future. The manager was incompetent, and pathetic; as was the cashier. They had the wrong cheese and it was as cold and the guy at the window said the cheese won’t melt. LIES. My last time coming here! IF THEY TELL YOU TO PULL OVER..DONT!!! I remember the girl voice and I should’ve spoken to her so she could correct the order she didn’t put through. They never know who messed up or didn’t do their part. It seems like the manager on duty needs to be more involved. My original location would never try to pull this trifling bull because they get it right the first time no repeat, great customer service, and in a timely manner. Tell ole girl to tighten up that was taking orders in the drive thru 3/12/24 @5pm..she had an attitude which is her problem but if she was smart she would’ve remembered they are a team and when she messed up, it falls on the flow of everyone and the person at the window catches the hell. I wouldn’t want to work with her on my team. The lines don’t even be long anymore for them to take that long. They definitely need training and a new staff. They aren’t effective. The other two locations close in radius are by far better. Definitely didn’t get 4 star service 2 times in a row. The manager is some trash. That’s the one that don’t know what his staff is doing. He doesn’t know who took my order when the boy was standing in the drive thru and ended up having to repeat my order and I ended up tapping my card twice, one in the drive thru and at the window. Read moreI went to the Chick-Fil-A in Washington, DC (Dakota Crossing 2410 Market St NE #04118 Washington, DC 20018) this morning around 6:13am. I placed my order via the mobile app when I pulled up to the menu board and a woman came on the speaker saying "Welcome" I said "Good morning I have a mobile order under the name Shae S." I heard nothing I repeated myself thinking maybe she did not hear me, still nothing not one word. Therefore, I pulled around to the drive-thru window and was greeted by a lady named Yemy (who was not the lady on the speaker). Yemy looked a little confused as she was not told which order was mine, then another woman that was African American, twist in her hair named Pari (as her name tag indicated) says "she said her order and then just pulled around so idk." I Said excuse me I told you my order and you did not respond. She then in turn says, "well you did not give me a chance to answer you back as she rolls her eyes and walk back to the drink area." I tell Yemy again I told the lady my order she ignored me twice I did not know what else to do so I drove around. Yemy apologizes and begin the prep my order, Pari comes back near the window area so I can hear her and says, "Yeah because it is too early for this shit, I do not have time for it."
