Great coffee, got a small oat latte with an extra shot and it was perfecttt — flavors are limited to mocha and natural brown sugar, got brown sugar in mine and while I do enjoy sweet somewhat sugary flavored coffee, I also appreciate a good coffee that’s focused on the beans — this place nails that, deliciouuuuus. And the ham and cheese croissant was fresssh, ham was juicy and had a nice flaky / soft bread texture.
4.5 stars cause the shop itself is simple with clear white walls (which id prefer over a pretentious/cookie cutter set up) just would enjoy some of their essence to the place — there is window seating as well as 4 tables to sit at and it seems like they have WiFi, would likely just have to ask them for access! (I guess on the other reviews there’s an upstairs area!)
the friendliness/vibes of the servers/barista does emanate through the shop in positivity (that isn’t energetically overbearing but simply kind) and was a nice start to my day.
Small latte w/ oat & ham & cheese totaled to $17 with a tip. A littleee more than I’d like to spend on a pastry and a small coffee but it was delicious so can’t...
Read moreI’m glad they are in the neighborhood, but wish the menu and food offerings weren’t so barebones. On one visit, I asked if they had vanilla syrup, and the owner told me that the coffee was ‘too good for that garbage’. I understand that it’s high quality coffee, but shouldn’t customers be able to enjoy their coffee the way they like? There are also nicer ways of saying no that don’t imply that something someone enjoys is garbage. As a small business, you’d think having an easy way to up-charge to make drinks more profitable with add ons would be a good idea, but apparently not for Cool Coffee. Despite having good quality coffee, their options for tea are not great and they have only a very small assortment of baked goods that tend to be gone by 10 or 11am most days. They’ve said they will serve sandwiches and ice cream for months now, but they haven’t had them when I’ve visited. I was so excited to have an alternative to Starbucks close by, but am honestly a little bored with the very basic...
Read moreDespite a plethora of restaurants in Brookland, there aren't many coffee shops compared to other neighborhoods. Visiting the area every Sunday morning, Zeke's is our go-to coffee shop. Now there are options thanks to Cool Coffee.
Located in a corner brick building with a neon sign out front with a sunglasses-wearing smiley face, it's open every day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The inside is bare bones with several places to sit and relax. They have a full coffee menu and a glass box of pastries from muffins to croissants.
My latte and my wife's americano were really well done. Very tasty and strong. (They brew Nagadi coffee from nearby Silver Spring, Maryland.)
Service is excellent! Staff were friendly and they were committed to making us a great...
