El Tapatio — Restaurant in Washington

O stars!!! This place picks and choose who they like to serve with respect . I've been coming here since a little girl with my family born and raised in Vancouver Washington and this is always been a staple point of Mexican food for Hazel Dell. I've never wanted to write this review even though countless times I have been rushed there, people seated before me that came after me, and the non-alcohol margaritas that I always serve to me that are supposed to at least a shot in them. Last night was the absolute worse experience to where I have to write a review . I went on my first date with a gentleman and recommended this place to which it was an embarrassment. He's white and I'm black yet when they messed up my order and brought out something completely different than when I asked for they just only apologize to him over and over to him ?? He was also infuriated by the way I was treated. At the end they looked at him over and over saying thank you thank you thank you even though when I came in I was told what do I want to eat within 1 minute of looking at a menu. I said please come back I will let you know after a few minutes and my waitress came back within one more minute. The rush was unbelievable we came in at 8:30 an hour and a half before they close and they waited around while we ate it staring at us, literally right next to our tables for us to hurry up. Then a group of Caucasian people came in literally 10 minutes before close and they were super excited to seat them and give them menus. People don't realize how much they're unprofessionalism shows but last night was top tier. Do not go there unless you want mediocre mexican food and a disrespectful atmosphere. You just lost a lifelong customer and all recommendations to my friends. Ps I felt so rushed we asked for boxes as they stared at me to finally box my food I just said forget it I'm not even going to eat here. This place sucks! I order a campechana and specifically ask twice if I can have it cold. They said no problem. When my order came it was hot! So I nicely reminded them that I asked for it cold . the waiter apologized and came back 10 minutes later and it was warm! Of course I'm left here scratching my head what is it that the waiter isn't understanding. I've been to countless of Mexican restaurants asked for it cold and got it...not to mentioned I asked for it cold they said not a problem. So for the third time I had to bring it up. I was trying to flagged the waiter down n didn't get nowhere. But by this time everyone in my table is pretty much done eating and I'm still trying to get what I order. So I brought my plate to the front and talked to the waiter and I said I've order the campechana cold and its not. It went from hot to warm...and you wouldn't believe what he said " we don't do that here." You don't do that here??? Look, I'm not the smartest guy in the world how is it you can't serve cold campechana? You just put the cocktail juice in the refrigerator when the customer orders it and when you are ready to deliver the meals it would be cold!! Its not rocket science. But what pissed me off the most is that if they don't do that there then why didn't you say that in the first place???? If you would have said that I would have had order something different. Hot campechana is a equivalent to bowl of cold soup...its gross. So my story ends with me having a warm bowl of campechana all by myself because everyone finished their meal. I will not be...

My boyfriend & I came here to eat dinner & left INFURIATED! First off, the margarita my boyfriend ordered was supposed to be blended, & was warm when he got it. A warm blended margarita? That makes no sense. So we get our food, which was very unappetizing looking. Start eating & my boyfriend bit into this chicken bone. Talk about a great way to ruin a meal! We showed the waitress, she said nothing. We go up to pay & I told them what we had gotten & I asked them to take it off of the bill. He mumbled & typed on the register & still charged us $50 something for our meal. I called to ask why I was still charged for this & the phone was passed around employee to employee until a girl finally told me to go back in & get refunded. I go back in, she offers me $8 for the $16 meal. She says “the boss said you can have half back, is that okay?”. UM? No? That’s not okay? We couldn’t eat any more of our meal after finding a huge chicken bone in it. I want my money back for atleast the meal that had the bone. The “boss” starts arguing with me & putting his hand in my face talking over me. How dare the “boss” treat a paying customer like this. My boyfriend went back in after me & eventually got the full refund after the man continued to argue with him. The atmosphere was gross. I will NEVER return & I would never ever suggest eating here. Save yourself some time & go eat somewhere that actually cares about their customers.
