Delish Thai — Restaurant in Washington

Folks, every once in a while you find a restaurant that seems unassuming, ordinary, or just "ok". Perhaps you do a few minutes of scoping out nearby places that fit your appetites and land on whatever you can to satisfy all the palettes of those in your party, hoping for the best and expecting no big surprises. Forget all that. Delish Thai is a GEM. If you love Thai food, if you're curious about Thai food, if you're a vegan, vegetarian, or you love a vegan or vegetarian and are trying to appease their needs and yours, or if you just wanna try something new THIS IS IT. On our way from Canada to Portland, we pulled off for a meal to avoid upcoming busy traffic times and my wife and I were both absolutely delighted by the meal we had at DT. I had the Kao Soi, a dish I'd never seen ion a Thai menu before. Trust me, I eat meat and my wife is a vegan(ish), so finding a restaurant we birth enjoy lads us into MANY Thai restaurants. This dish was AMAZING. It had pickled lettuce (?!?!), shrimp (meat is your choice), crispy and soft egg noodles, an amazing curry sauce, tamarind sauce, cilantro, and more. I still have some left and I can't wait to finish it. My wife had the tom yum, veggies only and it was also very tasty. I'm really hoping I can find a Thai place in Sacramento that'll make Kao Soi this away! The location is only a couple of minutes off 5, so a quick stop is very convenient. I've eaten here a couple times had friendly service good food. Sadly today I ordered food to go and the price when I picked it up was 7.00 more dollars then listed on price online. They didn't not make the peanut curry the same way as I had 3 previous times which I loved. It did not have all ingredients listed in menu definitions. There was 0 bell peppers and There was only 2 shrimp in it. 8 to 10 less then before. They put in a small container of rice instead of the noodles it was traditionally served with the other 3 times I've purchased it. I called to explain the problem. The woman that called herself the manager was very rude. Said I'd called before about this same issue. I said no I've never had anything but good things to say about the food it wasn't me. She said she would not do anything to make it right. Very poor customer service. Sadly I was recommending this place to several people however I will now let people know of the horrible customer service. I'm super disappointed and frustrated. Today was my second time in. I was so impressed by their flavors I needed to go back.

Both times now servers have been inattentive and not focused and customer experience. Waited a long time to order. Waited a long time before they told us the appetizer we wanted was out. Waited a long time for our check. Dismissed when asking for a manager.

The awesome part about this place is their flavor. The sweet and salt is always balanced. We were not asked about spiciest so both meals were mild; typically I am a medium lover.

Tonight may have been an off night is something but it seems the lack of service is a constant. The other things that were off was the chicken, bone dry and took away from the rest of the dish. My Pad See Ew had some weird piece of veggie trimmings in it: bean tips, stems that are too ginormous to be edible - things like that.

Because of the dismissal when asking for a manager, we will not be returning. It’s sad, because the food flavors are truly...
