We are new to the area and we had been looking for a fast food Japanese restaurant. After reading the reviews and seeing that most people really like this place, we decided to give it a try today. Also important to note is the menu was shared online and it said the average lunch was around $6.95. When we arrived in the store, we did notice a slight price discrepancy, to what we saw online. The bowls are around $8.95 and the meals are around $9.99 to 10 dollars. We decided to get the meal, since it came with a salad and given it was only about a dollar difference in price.
The quality of the meal gets an A+ . I ordered the spicy chicken breast it came with two small scoops of rice and a simple lettuce salad with a white dressing. The salad was fresh and delicious, the dressing was pretty good. The chicken was high quality meaning there was no funky fatty bits. The flavor was delicious. It most definitely was spicy. I like spicy, but it could have been almost a little too spicy for me. It also came with a little container of teriyaki sauce which I dunked each of my chicken into, to lessen the spice level. Again though the flavor of the chicken was absolutely amazing.
Also the people who own this restaurant seem to be a husband and wife. They are extremely nice and friendly. Very welcoming.
Would I come back? Yes I absolutely would. It is a little pricey for lunch. But considering the flavor and the quality. I would...
Read moreThis was a very good restaurant 5 years ago. I believe the ownership has switched hands several times. I have been eating teriyaki food since 4th grade living in Honolulu. We left there and went to Seattle and I learned how to eat Asian food in Seattle's China Town. At some point we discovered Toshis teriyaki. Fantastic restaurant downtown Seattle a one off great new concept back in 1975. The key to Toshis success was freshness, everything was large scoops rice lots of teriyaki of all choices. Super quick clean service a pot of tea or what ever you wanted to drink.
I continue to support out restaurant by the bowling alley. Small quantity, the chicken is sometimes like cardboard. They don't give enough sauce. I always spend around 15.00 per plate and never feel satisfied. Maybe I'm just spoiled from eating all those toshi restaurants that were built around the nation. I know it's a difficult menu but there are various recipes and plating and attitude and decor but you gotta rebrand like toshis or similar. If I didn't live 5 blocks away I would...
Read moreStopped in about 15 min before closing for some pot stickers, on my way to a friends. No greeting from an older guy and younger looking guy when I walked up to the counter. They looked at me like I had no business being there and asked me “what I wanted to eat” .
I let them know I wanted potstickers and also wanted to know if I could hang up a flyer for a local respectable business, on the window outside.
The older guy immediately told me no and just started shaking his head. The experience was not pleasant, all things considered. I let them know I would have to take a rain check and left. Im not slaty about being told no, but to be in my community and not have good customer service from the gate and then not wanting to participate in local business is a no-no for me. They had no flyers on their windows for anyone else.
If I ever try to eat there again, I’ll...
