I have always given my honest opinion with my reviews, and I usually leave myself the option for returning to a restaurant or a store (depending on the situation) to try again even if a meal wasn't up to what I feel a standard should be, as long as the customer service was excellent. For that being said, I will not be returning to this restaurant. I'm not sure I have ever left a one-star rating on a restaurant yet, this may be my first. After reading some good reviews on Gyro King, I was excited to try this little restaurant, I enjoy Mediterranean food, and I was looking forward to an excellent Greek salad. I may have set my standards too high; unfortunately, I felt this restaurant standard could have been better at least for me. Customer service? None existent, how about some expression other than the look of being miserable. Not only did I feel like I was bothering the guy that took my order, but I had a feeling he didn't want to be there. He lacked in manners, never did he smile at all. As I looked at the menu on the wall behind him, he stared at me the whole time, talk about feeling rushed. I asked a simple question about the luncheon special which was a gyro. The way I read the menu it looked as if I had a choice between lamb or beef; so I inquired about the Gyro lunch special with beef, he pointed at the menu (like I could read his mind) then he said no, and he made it very clear in an insulting tone that it's half lamb half beef, no choices. So, I ended up ordering a Greek salad supreme which had more cucumber (I stopped counting the half slices at eighteen, most layered on the bottom) and lettuce than anything else. Greek dressing, If there was, I tasted none; in fact, I tasted no seasoning at all. My salad consisted of five unpitted olives, why wouldn't you use pitted olives? Or why wouldn't you warn the customers the olives still had pits?? My salad also included four thin slices of red onion, nine small blocks of feta cheese, three tiny thin slices of tomato, and more than eighteen half slices of cucumber. I ask for some water, and he gave me a small dixie cup (it looked to be 2 or 3 ounces) for water, not even a full-size dixie cup. As I was jotting down notes, I dropped my pen and noticed that the floors at least under my table were dirty, especially along the edge of the floor. I am disappointed that I wasted my money and my time on...
Read moreThe atmosphere is wonderful. Service is fantastic. My order took much longer than they said but they checked in and made sure I knew they knew I was there and were kind. For fresh food a wait isn't a bother for me. I ordered two lamb gyros, greek fries, butter chicken and a desert sample of the chocolate roll, baklava, and pistachio baklava. With a side of garlic sauce and tatziki.
This was interesting. The sandwiches were ok. They weren't very flavorful and were soggy. They were to go so the time may have a part to play. However other places locally to go for the same item did not have the same problems. The fries were great! Crispy and the cheese was great. Still crispy after getting home. The dessert was AMAZING!!!! I don't like dessert and that was so good 10/10. It was the butter chicken. Boy. I'm still trying to eat it..because with every bite I just taste Campbell's tomato soup. I've never experienced such a bland, flavorless, just not good food from a restaurant ever, in general. I can taste the canned flavor, I taste tomato soup with nothing added. I can't taste a single seasoning. The chicken is cooked so perfectly. The sauce however is just terrible. It's just thick Campbell's tomato soup. Everything else was amazing (dessert) and ok (gyros and fries) but the butter chicken...
Read moreCalled in a to go order for 2 greek salads and hummus (Christmas Eve day so there was an understanding that it would take a long time) and he said it would take 20min. We got there at the 20min mark, there was 1 person in the dining room with her food, 1 woman waiting for her food, and 1 man that was waiting for food. The 1 guy working there hadn’t started our order yet and apologized. We accepted and understood. The woman waiting received her food (about 10min later) and left, the man working had to ask us what we ordered again. We proceeded to wait an additional 15min for our food to arrive and the man that was there waiting for his food before us was about to leave and cancel his order. When we opened our food, the salads were supposed to have falafel (and they didn’t) and the hummus was overly smooth and didn’t taste like there were any chickpeas in it. Frankly it’s concerning that we couldn’t identify what the hummus was made of. How does it take almost an hour for 2 salads and hummus? I understand a rush but there wasn’t even a rush; there were just a few orders. Not worth $30 by a Long shot. I understand that it’s Xmas eve and it looked like there was only 1 person working but I don’t think we will be going...
