My family and I recently visited Kirwan's Pub with high hopes of having a great evening, but unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff was indifferent and unwelcoming.
Firstly, the waiter assigned to our table had an unfriendly attitude.
What was even more frustrating was the fact that despite there being numerous empty tables available, the waiter adamantly refused to give us a better table. We politely requested a different spot closer to the boardwalk that would have made our dining experience more comfortable, but our reasonable request was met with a hostile attitude.
To make matters worse, throughout our entire meal, the waiters never bothered to bring us water. We had to ask multiple times, but each time they ignored our request, leaving us parched and frustrated. It's astounding how something as basic as providing water was completely neglected.
Adding insult to injury, when we received our bill, we were shocked to find a 20% gratuity charge added without any prior warning or explanation. Nowhere was it mentioned on the menu or communicated to us by the waiter. It was an underhanded tactic that left a sour taste in our mouths. While I don't mind tipping for good service, having it forcefully imposed on us without our consent was highly unprofessional and unacceptable.
Overall, my experience at Kirwan's Pub was disheartening. The unfriendly waiter, the refusal to accommodate our seating preferences, the failure to provide water, and the sneaky addition of the gratuity charge all contributed to a thoroughly disappointing visit. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant...
