When you Walk inside La Betty in front of you is a the counter of donuts and cakes. The process of ordering was unclear and confusing. There were people standing in the lobby area who looked like customers.
Employees were behind the counter. Menus were by the door. There was no one to greet you. We asked the employee behind the counter where to go to eat.
A warm woman Asia appeared and told us we could order from her and she would call our name when the food was ready.
We walked to the right of the counter behind a wall and found a lounge area and dining tables. We sat down at the counter by the window. One of us had a laptop. Another woman appeared and told us there were no laptops allowed in the dining room. The woman told us to go to the other side of the entrance where laptops are allowed, which we did. Btw, Another customer was working at the same counter via phone and notepad.
There is no WiFi and the music is loud.
We ordered the following.
The Jelly donut was good filled with a nice amount of raspberry/strawberry jelly. The Glazed donut was ok. The Cream with coconut donut was ok. There is a lot of cream with a touch of coconut. Chive cheddar biscuit with an egg. The egg was good and the biscuit was surprisingly bland. The French baguette is good.
May return to try their other food options but do not want to go out of our...
Read moreI’ve gone to La Betty AM twice since it replaced A Baked Joint, and both times have been awful.
First visit: I ordered two chais, a cinnamon roll, and some banana bread. The banana bread was fine. The place was half as busy as a baked joint used to be but it took almost twice as long for my chais to arrive, which is when I was told that they were out of cinnamon rolls. They offered me a refund, which I was fine with, but it’s been a month and I haven’t received one, so they stole my money. It was just a slightly overpriced cinnamon roll though, no big deal, mistakes happen.
Second visit: I ordered banana bread and cookies. It took 10 minutes to grab premade items and put them in a bag, except that once again, they didn’t have an item - this time the 4 cookies that I ordered. Once again, I already paid for them, and although I did receive a refund this time, the experience was still very off-putting. On top of that, the bread was stale. Serving stale bread at 7:45 in the morning is … a choice.
Summary: La Betty AM has charged me for items that I never received without providing me a refund for it. I don’t recommend spending...
Read moreEating at la Betty is like going to your coolest friends house for dinner and being welcomed like you're family.
The space is comfortable but stylish. You feel at ease as soon as you walked in. I could easily see this as a date night spot, but would also definitely bring my parents here for a fun night when they comes to visit.
You can tell the drink menu is intentionally simple. It's been brought to the essentials, and all of the options are delicious. I had the red wine which was light but full of flavor. I also had a small glass of the darker beer, which was malty and soooo good.
To start we ordered the corn dogs. I love corn dogs in almost every case but these were especially good. For our entrees, we ordered the roast and the schnitzel, and both were truly spectacular. The roast was packed full of flavor - so tender and juicy. You could tell the schnitzel was incredibly fresh - the flavor was really delicate but well balanced.
The service was flawless, and the staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
Overall, I couldn't have hoped for a better experience, and I will definitely be...
