La Ribera — Restaurant in Washington

The lunch menu has a nice variety to choose from. My husband had the taco salad and found it average. I had the Pollo Adobo with rice and black beans. The portions were generous. The chicken dish was amazing. It tasted like it was roasted over and open fire with wonderful spices. The black beans were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The rice was fluffy and tasted better after I put hot sauce on it. The chips were fresh, crisp and warm. The salsa tasted like plain tomato sauce. We asked for the house made hotter salsa and added that to the salsa and that turned out hotter and delicious. My entree was hot, but my rice and beans were cool. It was a cold day. The servers were wearing their warm jackets, so it could be that the dishes were cold in the kitchen. I enjoyed my leftovers today and everything was hot and delicious....

I went there today and the fat woman at the cash register told me I have to have the hard chips that I cannot eat I asked nicely may I substitute another soft flour bread instead of the hard chip she had me and herself standing there for 10 minutes other people are eating inside looking at me like I was from another planet . anyways the Texas fajitas coast a lot of money look like giving me an extra flour bread 🥪🍞 soft tortilla.instead of the fried tortilla chip .was a big problem .so I jetted and my family that was in the car just came here from Richmond Virginia. today said to me no this place isn't for them not for me .so the moral of this story is we went to another Mexican restaurant in Washington NC.and all 5 of us even the teens had an amazing time .so thanks to the lady that did not want to be nice about a 2.$...

I have always had good food here, I called to order quesadilla with spinach and mushrooms and they would not allow me to have both on the quesadilla. I didn’t understand and asked again and after it is was explained again the lady rudely said “ma’am I have explained this to you three times” and handed me off to someone else. I told her what I wanted and she said they would not do add ons, I paused to think about it and they hung up on me! I will most likely never eat there again. Which is sad -but there are too many Mexican restaurants in Washington to treat...
