Lola's A Neighborhood Bar — Restaurant in Washington

I’m going to start this review off noting that my wife and I have not been to this establishment in a couple of years. I’m willing to come back and try it again because I do like the ambience, location, pool tables, TVs and decor. I will ONLY come back knowing if the TERRIFYING bartender on the first floor is gone. I just went through the reviews here and could not believe how many people here reported her. On my first experience here, she was so condescending we were unsure if we could actually order food. We sat at the bar and asked her if the kitchen was open, she stared at us for a nice 5 seconds before saying “It is a kitchen…” My wife and I gave each other a look and then nodded to the bartender and requested burgers. The food from what I remember was pretty good.

We returned a few weeks later with friends to play pool. There was an issue and we decided to leave. The same bartender started chanting “Aholes, aholes” on our way out which was beyond embarrassing for me In front of my friends who were visiting from out of state. My wife was not only embarrassed, she was legitimately disturbed. That was the last time we went to Lola’s.

Bartender was insanely rude. I walked in with a friend and said we just wanted some drinks and she rudely replied well you’re at the bar what do you want? I thought perhaps maybe there was table service and mentioned that and she laughed. I am a bartender and have been working in the industry for around 10 years. I have NEVER spoken to a patron the way she spoke to me and it would have never been tolerated by any company I have worked for. I asked my friend if it was me being over sensitive or if she thought the woman was rude and she said yes she was rude. I then went online to look at reviews and it seems almost everyone else feels that way as well. I am appalled. Especially during COVID as an industry worker I respect and value my guests so much and could never imagine treating people this way and expecting them to tip me or ever return. I NEVER write reviews, but thought this woman was so awful she deserved to be called out. There are so many good workers in the industry, you should maybe consider cleaning house and hiring people who genuinely care about your company and value guest...

Wow whatta freaking joke. I have been frequenting this spot for 10 yrs as a nice place to play pool as they have a free decent table to play, free as in free to play pool unless the owner shows up and feels threatened by you. This lame-o tried to bounce me, announcing himself as owner in costume for halloween weekend in pool room for no reason. There were a few lovely ladies that arrived with him. For seemingly no reason he stated he is owner and I need to leave. Before I left one of the women guests approached me, implored I stay and brushed off his behavior. I could only stay a few min before leaving, simply disgusted w/ interacting with this guy. The dude at bar on 2nd level bar who beat me at my last game said same thing, king douche bag owner bounced him from table when he arrived. When this clown first approached me he stated his status but I didnt believe him as he appeared homeless..
