This place is a disgrace to the Guatemalan Cuisine, and specifically to my wife culture, who is also a hard-core Guatemalan. This restaurant got to be a joke !!! I agree with others who wrote bad reviews on here. First of, the place was not clean, tables and chairs had grease on them, floors were not swept, trash can was next to our table and that didn't look appealing at all. The place is hot, 85 degrees outside and there was no AC, just 2 small commercial blowers, one on each side. There was a lot of flies around. For some reasons, the server looked annoyed. Our food arrived after 35 minutes waiting time. The garnachas were just greasy bread with some tasteless ground beef on top. One of the main dishes we ordered came with a chewing gum stuck to the side of the plate, we didn't touch it at all. The Steak had no flavor whatsoever, the refried beans were burnt and tasted like burnt plastic, the sausage smelled bad too. The horchata was nothing, but watered down juice with a handful of cinnamon powder on top. The Jamaica too, AGUA !!!! I still can't believe we paid a total of $91 for a stupid dinner that you can get for $40 in the hood and still probably tasted better than this junk ! I absolutely don't...
Read moreOrdered food to go ; I want to share my experience Karla the owner was nice , she was taking orders helping serve her customers. It’s something you don’t see a lot ! As for the food it was amazing! I love that it’s all made to order and you can taste it. The wait for hot, fresh food is absolutely worth it. The chuchitos are delicious, full of meat, and not dry at all. The shucos the bread nicely toasted so that it didn’t get soggy with the guacamole and the meats . I got the mixto one and I was able to taste every meat and it was delicious! I had the mixtas delicious too !! We ordered the churrasco . It came with a tortilla a jalapeño , a vegetable salad, spring onion grilled and a nice tender well seasoned piece of meat. It didn’t have the bad aftertaste most times you get from carne asadas at restaurants. This meat tasted like if I bought it marinated and put it on the grill. It tasted so fresh and was so tender. I can’t wait to go back and try even more of her menu! Please excuse the pictures we were so...
Read moreWe were very excited to try out this “authentic” Guatemalan restaurant and as a chapina myself, I can honestly say the food was trash and the aguas frescas were literally AGUA. We ordered the malitox breakfast and the garnachas. For starters, the breakfast was nothing special, it was decent, not a lot of flavor and they didn’t pick the best plátanos (plantains) because they were not sweet at all. The garnachas were lacking all the flavor, just greasy meat on a crispy tortilla, my cuñada’s are 10000% times better. Both dishes not worth the $15 and $13 price tags. And finally the aguas frescas ($7), we ordered two horchatas to start which was a damn shame, that was the worst “horchata” we’ve ever had. We wouldn’t even call it horchata, it was water with cinnamon powder 😑. Since it was so disappointing, my boyfriend ordered a tamarindo and same thing, watered down and no flavor. Service was ok, but you could tell the one server was getting burnt out and annoyed. Would not recommend and won’t...
