I am not usually one to write negative reviews, but my friends and I came here for bottomless brunch and our experience was less than stellar. The food was pretty good, but our server was rude. We constantly had to ask for refills for a $65 bottomless brunch after tax and tip and were met with a disrespectful attitude when making requests. As someone who has waited tables before I understand how taxing serving a large party is, but our server’s attitude was that of someone who did not want to be bothered with serving us.
One of us asked for a non alcoholic beverage and they were met with vitriol because of the restaurant’s strange “only alcoholic drinks or non alcoholic drinks” policy for bottomless despite the wording of their menu suggesting otherwise. It is important to clarify your offerings when creating a menu to avoid confusion. When we asked for said clarification the server was rude and patronizing. I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. This brunch was supposed to be an enjoyable experience for a group of friends who only get together once a year, but it was tainted by the horrible service.
It seems they only had one carafe for the mimosas that they had to refill every time our party of 12 finished our glasses. DC is known for bottomless brunch, so if this restaurant is unable to accommodate that they should not offer it. The server looked inconvenienced by the fact that he had to keep refilling out glasses, but the point of a bottomless brunch is that there is no bottom to the drinks. It is disrespectful to sigh and disappear when we were asking for the bare minimum that the offering requires.
I am unsure of the reason for this behavior, but it felt like us being young Black women made us less valuable customers in their eyes. The attitude was offensive, demeaning, and truly perplexing. Meze will never get our...
Read moreI have never experienced a level of disrespect from management as I did at this place. We did bottomless brunch and the waiter at first did not give menus because he said he was going to do all the ordering and then we asked for a menu but that did not matter. We received bread and no real food for about an hour and they did not refill the drinks at all and it was supposed to be bottomless food and drinks. If that wasn't enough, a MOUSE ran across our feet during the meal. The manager came over and violently smashed and killed the mouse in front of us. He did not say a word to us after that. When I went up to him to ask about the food, drinks, and anything for the mouse, he told me that it wasn't his issue and told me to "go sit down girl" but when my male friends went to speak to him, he actually looked at them. Completely misogynistic. Also after all that, when the food FINALLY came there were hairs in the food. Our waiter then said at the end "the manager was stressed hope you come back" as if anything that occurred was due...
Read moreWas here two weeks ago. Food is average. Customer service also average. The seating arrangements was so bad where they seated us, we were technically in another customers face!!! Really bad We ordered a dessert called Kunufe, very average taste and no pistachio on top! Perhaps to make more money out of their customers!
Also their Turkish coffee tasted so so so bad, I didn't finish drinking it! I told the waiter and he admitted that nobody makes it! They use a machine for it! Anyone can do that, the reason that I order Turkish coffee in a Turkish restaurant!!! is to have handcrafted coffee. Even though I expressed that I am very displeased with the coffee the waiter totally ignored it! Usually when this happens at other restaurants, the manager comes and apologizes or they usually take the coffee out of the bill! None happened! Won't be back to this restaurant. There are plenty of good Turkish restaurants in DC that provide better quality and better...
