Panera Bread — Restaurant in Washington

Because this is located within the hospital, it is fighting back against a lot of stressed out and weird people-drama. It makes for an unpleasant experience as a result. If you're coming to grab food and go, great! But do not stick around unless you're too tired and stressed to care.

E.g. a man begging for coffee was directed by a hospital provider to go to the cafeteria for coffee (since it is cheaper) and he created a fuss for "doubting his intelligence". The same man, when gifted a coffee and cake from a different provider a bit later, ended up going to the counter and demanding more food for "getting his order wrong." It held up the line and was awkward to hear.

Another example on the same day, I was sitting at a table, working on my laptop, and a woman came up and sat down. She asked me to move my things and I said no. She then asked if I paid for the table and, if she had time, she would have called the manager... When I tried to speak with her or direct her to another free table, she would respond 'huh' and pretended to not hear me in response. When she left, she left her trash on the table so I cleaned up after her.

Again, food and coffee are fine!

...just very different from the atmosphere I am used to when sitting...

I was coming to the hospital for sometimes to checkup needs, and bring my son with me to this place, and about a two weeks ago sales person double charged for he. Asked the manager to take the other double charge off to give us what we ordered, and the manager came did that we were waiting to get his sandwich... We already have us the bottle drinks our waiting were for the sandwich. little we know how they treat people the manager wrapped up empty bag medium size cup in brown bag instead of the sandwich. Dry nicely so I won't know... The sad part is this days i have come to see how poorly people can be treated. Anyways paying double one thing and not get the sandwich we ordered paid for it that was sad. we had food delivered to us before from grocery store with bad expired date so on... bad done of the food I kinda got the poor treat in so many ways I can't even say at this moment, but I don't know how to even begin to tell my son how I don't even want to order here because of this and I don't want in this place, he opened the bag to empty cup . And I couldn't express the sadness they...

You BETTER tip them well, or they will destroy your order intentionally!!!

Always order the Madagascar Latte but only get my order correct when I add a tip! If not, you get drip decaf!!! It's not like anyone even took my order! I used a machine! Like they don't realize that they're located in the hospital and that their customers may have to get blood pressure checked! I don't care about not getting caffeine, but that drip coffee tasted like sewer water! I gladly walk across the street to the VA to get my coffee now. I refuse to ever visit this store again! It's a shame because they sell some of my go-to's!

This is the WORST Panera Bread location I've ever been to. Do yourself a favor and read some of their other reviews! Such low class people! They WILL tamper with food! I can't wait until machines take over their jobs!

Edit... On second thought...I thank you for such a horrible experience. It made me splurge on a new coffee machine today. Something I actually should have...
