This restaurant is accurately named. Paradise is located behind a gas station in Bothell. I would rate this place 10 stars if I could.
Food was amazingly delicious. We ordered the methi paneer tikka, chicken tikka masala, and andhra chicken. Each of the dishes we got at a spice level 4. The waiter kind of warned us that their 4 was very spicy, not like other indian restaurants. We eat indian food a lot, so I was excited to hear it (but we are also super awkward and indecisive on what to get because we want to order everything (really, I'd like a couple bites of each dish and yes, I know thalis exist, but they also usually come with a couple things I don't want), so we can only assume most restaurants think we're confused like we don't know what saag is or something and don't know what we're doing because we take a long time to figure our lives out. We also have some weird dietary stuff, so we don't order bread and sometimes ask for no rice since we won't eat it anyways). I think they actually have us a 4 too, because I was sweating and my nose was running a little when I finished (huge plus to them, we've had other restaurants judge us for being slow and refuse to give us the food at full deliciousness to the point where even the receipt had a lower spice level than we ordered). Each of the dishes were full of flavor. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly.
The decor didn't feel overly stuffy (I hate table cloths at restaurants, I always feel like they are dirty and get in the way and make restaurants feel too formal. For whatever reason, most indian restaurants seem to have them, so I'm happy to see one without). There was a TV, but it was playing Tom and Jerry cartoons, not cricket or indian music videos (I don't really care either way. Part of me wanted to watch Tom and Jerry, but with how we were situated, doing so might have made it look like I was staring at other customers).
The only thing I would change about the restaurant is to make it clear what the process is for eating there. For smaller, informal restaurants like this one, it is always super unclear what we're supposed to do to get food. Are we supposed to order at the counter? Seat ourselves? Wait for someone to tell us where to sit? Do we pay first or after? Is the bill going to be brought to us or do we pay at the counter? Maybe it is us just being dumb and awkward, and it isn't just a problem here, so I can't really fault them for it. Luckily, they seemed patient with us, and even made sure to let us know to pay at the counter when we were done eating. Or maybe I we were just sitting there for a long time after we were done? I know after I finished eating, I was just sitting there with a big dumb grin on my face for a bit because of how pleased I was with the food. We went for lunch and part of me wanted to sit there until I was hungry...
Read moreUPDATE: unfortunately I have to deduct a couple of stars after my 2nd visit. I had recently done some catering from Paradise folks after trying things out the first time. The order consisted of several veg/non-veg items including chicken noodles for kids. We had ordered a full party pack given the number of kids who would prefer this. We had specifically requested very mild spicy. Most of the meat items were good, very tender meat, good flavor, and generally good mild spicy flavor. However, chicken biryani, still hot as hell and the noodles even more so. These were for little kids and we had ordered chicken noodles. We were given veg noodles instead (not a single piece of chicken). The whole party pack of noodles ended up being a waste and not a single child touched it after the initial bite. We had to order pizza for them instead. On top of that, not sure how communication rolls from one person to another since I had to request chutneys multiple times even though I had requested to make sure there were enough at the time of ordering. Finally, I had requested if everything can be packaged up in boxes for easier transportation. Nope nada, good thing I brought my own boxes. I didnt mind paying whatever extra was needed to be paid but I'm saddened to see not all the communication and all of food was carried out as expected. There were several folks searching for bread or something sweet to eat even with the request of mild spicy flavor. Again, a good portion were tolerable but at least 3 were intolerable and 1 just completely missed the boat, chicken noodles but no chicken. On plus side, very good and tender chicken tikka masala, chicken 65 and goat curry.
Our first time at Paradise, great service, amazing food even though the wait was crazy long but for good food, I don't mind waiting and it was delivered with great results at the end. Goat curry, chicken 65, 555 biryani had excellent tenderness, very juicy. Definitely more spicy for my taste but I'm sure that can be asked to dial down a little. Highly...
Read moreI had called this place on Sunday July 2 prior to coming in and the lady on the call confirmed dine in is open. Once i arrived at around 915pm, the person at the counter said that it's first day of dine in only for the owners friends and family and I can only do takeout!
I was driving the entire day and came here to get dinner which was one of the last few places open at this time. I then ordered takeout for 3 things Bezawada Paneer Biryani Gobi 65 Chicken Dum Biryani
They gave me Chicken Bezawada biryani instead of Paneer one and my 2 vegetarian friends had to remain hungry by just eating the grainy half cooked Gobi 65.
Also the chicken dum biryani had 2 small pieces of bone in chicken and all remaining rice like 80% of the box was just rice and I saw the person microwaving it in front of me! That's really pathetic compared to the other places where I've gotten Biryani from example Momi Indian kitchen or Ruchis Biryani which are relatively better in the meat quantity.
The management has changed and the new owners are the same owners of Biryani Pizza House in Bellevue, totally horrible! The previous management/owners were better, sad they had to go!
I tried calling to to speak with the owner twice on times as per Yelp and Google that said the restaurant was open but the person picked up and said owner/manager is not there. They even took my details but never called back.
Note to owner: If you are reading this they please issue me the refund for my order. It was a total of $53.18 charged at...
