I visited Pitango in mid day on Tuesday. I had the best time enjoying very solid cappuccino, galato and Breakfast croissant . Maybe unusual mix for 1.30 pm :) Cappuccino is just wonderful! Strong and creamy and just perfect size. The ceramic mug was just big enough for me to enjoy the sunny spring day and not to big to make me feel like I consumed buckets of caffeine. I had a small cup of Gelato with it. Now, consistency was just amazing. Super creamy and thick. My chocolate-hazelnut was just to die for although I didn't enjoy raspberry flavor as much. When first flavor was just packed with aroma, cream, nuts and chocolate, raspberry was pretty uneventful. Rather flat without any strong flavor I could hang my taste buds onto it. Very mild, indistinguishable when I was looking for tangy, rich raspberry extravaganza. I will say it was easy flavor what didn't hit the spot. Breakfast croissant on another hand hit the spot double time! First of all, size is out of this world. I had to open up the sandwich, so I could manage without getting my dress into dry cleaning mode. Croissant was super crispy and beautiful, inside flaky and doughy. Egg cooked to perfection with thick, deep yellow yolk spilling into croissant and thick bed of arugula. Amount of prosciutto was very satisfying if not overwhelming. I also think there was a pesto or some sauce in the sandwich, however it could be the yolk mixed up with goodness of all. Swrvice was very kind and relaxed as well. I couldn't be happier with the meal. Giving 4 stars only because raspberry Gelato fall short. Otherwise it would be...
Read moreI absolutely harass my friends to try Pitango for their gelato and very recently I took my friend in to try it for the first time. She had the pistachio and hazelnut, and I had the bacio biacno (which is absolutely my new personal favorite🤗). The food wasn't the problem, as both of us had incredibly delicious food given to us, it was the service. Me and my friend were waiting in a rather long line, and as we were finally headed to the register, the hispanic woman making coffee asked an older, taller, white gentleman to help ring us up. He visibly punched the air in anger and walked up to us with the most forced grin and talked through gritted teeth, as if we forced him and he didn't even want to be there. After he served us, he was in such a rush to leave, he completely ignored my friend and walked away while she was asking him a question. Thankfully, the aforementioned barista lady kindly stepped in and offered to help instead. Of course, I believe people have their bad days, but every time I (or customers before and after me, I have noticed) have been serviced by this older gentleman, its the same horrible service. I've been meaning to try the food here (they have samples of focaccia and it was amazing) but I wouldn't want to go back and have to deal with him. Overall, this store is still great, and everyone besides him seem to be very helpful and genuine in...
Read moreI originally came here with the intention to get some gelato since I had been craving a cold sweet treat for a while. However, since I hadn’t had breakfast I figured a sandwich would satiate my hunger more than gelato. I asked the cashier what sandwich she thought was best and went with her recommendation of the Red Sandwich. It’s always nice when restaurant staff’s recommendations end up being top notch, and this was one instance. My friends ordered a coffee and a lemonade and I stuck to my water bottle from home. However, they accidentally gave my friend an extra coffee; so after a little switcheroo, I ended up with a lemonade (a bit watered down since it was a tad sweet for my taste). The sandwich was good, but it was cold. I guess I expected it to be warmed but that’s on my for not checking. You live and you learn. If you’re a warm sandwich fan like I am, ask them to warm it up. With the top notch service they’ve got, I’ve no doubt they’ll do that. I ended up not getting gelato since my friends and I had to leave before I had a chance to get some. So I’ll be coming back sometime in the future to get a cold scoop and warm sandwich to...
