Should be negative stars. They don't clean on the regular. The bathrooms can go over a week without being cleaned. They don't sweep and mop the lobby daily. They love being on their phones instead of actually working. They can't make orders right to save their LIFE. They feed the tweakers who walk up to the drive thru windows so that's why there's so many tweakers around there. They love taking trash about employee's spouses right in front of them thinking they can't here them, even mocking them and trying to humiliate them. How do I know this? My HUSBAND used to work there. We were living in our car at the time and staying in the Walmart parking lot right there. My husband said the GM said I could come sit inside while he worked to stay warm and charge my stuff. I was hesitant for awhile and embarrassed because of our situation, but eventually I did. I kept to myself and tried to keep wherever I sat clean. When my adult son made a mess of mud from his work boots, I told my husband is clean it up because I felt bad. He said for me to not worry about it and that he'd get it but he didn't. Needles to say it was still there through the next day. When the DM told them I couldn't sit in there anymore, instead of them telling us, they decided to just play high school games. They talked about me, made comments, mocked me like a little immature child saying "he's my husband and he's my husband" when I corrected one of my husband's other coworkers that I was his wife not his girlfriend (yes, we're really married and you can look it up on Biloxi, MS website or even vital check website so you can feel more stupid than you looked and sounded). They would put crap all over most of the tables to limit seating and all the garbage managers would sit in the booths shoulder to shoulder starting me down and taking trash. They'd look me dead in the face and then only greet my husband specifically like I wasn't even there. They thought I couldn't hear them because I had earbuds in but they didn't realize there was nothing playing through them. And if it had to do with my comments to my husband about the cleanliness of the restaurant then maybe they should have kept it cleaner instead of leaving tampon wrapping on the tp dispenser for a week or just actually cleaning the restaurant daily. It's not that hard. I used to clean a restaurant more than 4x that size in Mississippi, including 4 bathrooms that were much larger, doing windows, sweeping and mopping and polishing the elevator. That's not counting the other stuff I had to do. And yes, it was done EVERY DAY. But hey, yall want to be nasty and ugly to people who are struggling and trying to get on their feet, go ahead. And if it was about the way I seemed to treat my husband when we had arguments, that's the result of me dealing with years of narcissistic abuse and being a DV survivor from him. I tried to not take advantage of the situation and told my husband not to and to not push it with things like free food or extras but of course he didn't listen, regardless of me telling him to stop doing it. I walked out one night in tears because of the way these people treated me for no real reason. I'm sorry they don't know how to treat people with kindness or respect or that they don't know how to clean a small restaurant daily. They should be ashamed of that place...
Read moreSo I visited this location on 8/10 /23 at around 1:00 in the afternoon and used the drive thru.
The young female employee working the drive thru window was awesome. She was very professional and polite, greeting me before I placed my order, repeating my order back for accuracy before I pulled to the window. As I reached the window she again greeted me and had the most beautiful and polite smile. She ensured my order was correct before handing it out to me and as I prepared to leave the window she thanked me for my business and wished me a "great afternoon". WOW, not at all the service I am use to receiving from most fast food establishments..
As I drove away I reflected upon the experience and immediately decided to call the establishment and provide praise for the employee - this is where the experience went South!
My call was answered by a female employee and I asked if I could speak to a Supv or Manager, the person who answered the phone told me she was the manager. I identified myself by name to her and asked if I could have a few seconds of her time to provide some feedback, much to my surprise she responded with "No, I'm too busy"! I was stunned by that and went silent and she then said she was short staffed and told me to call back later.. Again, WOW!!
That exchange exemplifies all that is wrong with the fast food industry today. What should has been a shining moment for the drivethru employee ended up being dashed by a manager with no sense of understanding for what customer service is, what a travesty for not only the young employee but also for the franchise owner and the Popeyes brand. What would have amounted to 20-30 seconds of time for that Manager just cost Popeyes another customer, I hope for the sake of the franchise owner that that manager is really worth what he pays her because if my experience with her continues with other customers the store will continue to lose customers.
My suggestion, drive another two blocks to KFC or a couple miles to the...
Read moreMy review is not representative of the employees, but of the management of this place as a whole. I am sure the employees had no choice, and were overworked/underpaid, which explains the less than stellar experience I had.
The lobby was closed. Drove to the drive through to find two kids ordering on foot. It was raining.
They make you wait to start order. There was no roof/cover to stop the rain from entering my car, so I had to take out my umbrella while waiting for the prompt (I can't close my window because I will not hear the prompt). Picture this, a person inside a car with umbrella outside the driver seat.
Management never bothered installing rain protection, in Washington state.
They got the order wrong. Probably because they could not hear me clearly, or they were just too tired.
Popeye's really charges for Gravy? $7 for a gravy?
The employees seem nice, so I am blaming management and the head office for this.
Food Review (Subjective) -
I heard so much hype about Popeye's, and this was my first time. Needless to say, I will not return to ANY Popeye's, because I also did not like the taste of food.
Spicy chicken barely qualifies as "spicy". Gravy tastes weird. Like Mexican/Indian influenced. KFC wins hand down. Their "mild" should really just be called unspiced. Mild what? What is mild?
Recommendation: Eh, try it. You might like it, but it's not for me. Me: I have tasted food around the world and I consider British and American food bland. I do like Southern USA dishes, which is why I find it weird that I hated their cajun gravy. I will take pineapple on my pizza every time, so judge me based...
