Volcano Coffee — Restaurant in South Hill

Ordered 3 drinks, a bagel, and a doughnut estimated wait was around at most 4 -5min at a normal shop. I suppose the girls running the Sunday shift didn't know how time works and took over 30min making a single hot 20oz dirty chai. When I went up to wait for it, they whipped out an iced dirty chai and I had to correct them on what was ordered. They then brought me the correct drink eventually, which was appreciated. While waiting though, the staff was quoted in saying "They needed to put a (staff member) in their places because of their attitude and they needed to be scolded" loud enough for us to hear from the front door as we left.

The drinks are mediocre, the energy drink is insanely sugary, and the coffees are bitter and bad.

We came in 6/27. The first lady who helped us was very nice, pleasant, and welcoming; she was a redhead. Not sure how she got swapped out for the second lady that helped us but the second one was rude, rushed us through our order (it was our first time at this coffee place, we weren’t taking long to order but were looking at the menu), she wasn’t personable or patient; she had darker hair. When the same dark haired lady came back and brought us our drinks she practically threw them at us. I was mid sentence saying thank you and she turned around so quick and walked away. Great decaf mocha!!! And the blueberry scone knocked it right out of the park. I am told their regular coffee's really good, too. Tall tables, normal tables, and a couch back in one corner. The staff are great, polite, and it appears to be a place that has a healthy bunch of regulars. Think I'm gonna become a regular.

I was less impressed today, and may have re-evaluate becoming a regular. Not too many more things make a person feel...less than a person than to put one's thing down at at table, to get greeted, have our order taken and paid for, and THEN get told that particular table is reserved after 2pm. There was no sign. The available tables don't work well for two people with sketch pads. ...
