This place has the warmest most sincere staff…and they are all beautiful looking too!! They greet you upon your entry and as you exit. They explained the menu and the place is clean. I went on Good Friday and that whiting was juicy and good n hot. Small minor bones but I KNOW the fish is REAL. Love the condiments options on the counter that are offered to jazz up the dish. Going back for the fried shrimp platter….bc that seemed to be popular and looked DARN good.

What a pleasant experience my gf and I had at S&G. Staff was very friendly and the food was perfectly seasoned. The best wing sauce is the house sauce (I think it’s some mix of mumbo + bbq). The whiting was our favorite fish. And the fries were great (fast food fries yum!). I love how they have sauce and seasonings on the counter for you to add on your own. Tip 1: Park down the little alley around the corner. Tip 2: cash payment gets a 4% discount.

This small yet big family business is just right and serves up great food! They are a staple to Washington, DC and a landmark of great proportions hidden away in Edgewood community as older locals call the neighborhood. This is my go to spot for good wings, fries, and everything else. This place is a treasure in the heart of DC. and I’m more comfortable buying wings and fries here than going to the Chinese carry out..

Most things are fried and that limitation is the main reason I don't eat there all the time . For a "seafood house" you are restricted to two types of fried fish ,shrimp and burgers and fries. There are sides. If you've ever ate at Mid Atlantic Seafood , this is not really a seafood househouse . It IS a cozy, simple ,family owned ,carryout. A neighborhood spot . The food is good when available. Their business model is my main complaint . The hours are not always kept , menu items are not consistently available, poor curb appeal ,and the specials are run at random .You never know what special item is cooked on what day in advance . It's a surprise when you walk in or sold out. I find the mother and her daughters are normal women whom I often exchange pleasant conversations with . They are kind to the local school children and always serve them with respect and help them count out...

I really wanted to love this place. It lacked curb appeal. Not to mention NO PARKING. Most sauces cost. And they didnt have any small sauce containers. Its seems to be a black family owned establishment which means the world to us in DC. I wish the owner/cook smiled more she was beautiful. The young lady at the counter was very approachable and knowledgeable but lacked professionalism on the level of her peers. The food was tasty. Although my shrimp kind of tasted like fish a little. But that could have been an old grease issue but none the less it didnt get sick. Then on the other hand the fish was outstanding. It was a great size for 9.00 it was seasoned very well. The crunch was on point!! I would visit again in a lyft with my own cocktail sauce, lemon juice, vinegar and hot...

Sooooo nasty!!!! The fish in all of our dinners were dried out. The potato salad has too much celery seeds. The best thing was the mac n cheese looks like it was made 3 weeks ago. $60 went to waste. Called store the young boy had an attitude and told me he "wasn't going to give a refund call ubereats" I didn't even want a refund!! I just wanted fresh food but at least if they refund me at least the dog will have something to eat too. They must treat people who they dont...
