Shari's Cafe and Pies — Restaurant in Washington

So my wife and I were running errands and missed breakfast served at another place and we saw Shari’s! I haven’t been since childhood and wasn’t keen on the idea. Admittedly some up North snobbery…

I’m diabetic so we needed to eat and went in only to have the great fortune of being greeted by server Susan, 11:00am on.a Monday. She was AMAZING!!! Kind, attentive and pleasant Susan was.

My wife has.a dairy allergy and asked if they used butter to cook with and Susan told us what they used and that it should be fine. Susan stepped aside and we began formulating an order. Then Susan came back and informed us that she wanted to absolutely make sure and found that the ingredient did have Buttermilk after all.

Susan did that on her own and in most, if not all, cases people don’t understand the importance of this fact or just don’t care but Susan checked to make sure we were safe! What we have found in the last few years is that our preconceived thoughts about things are usually off mark when it comes to what you pay and what you get. Seattle and Bellevue have lots to offer but we rarely get this kind of genuine service up there.

I ordered a Build Your Own Omelette with Bacon, Monterey Cheese, Broccoli, Onions & Spinach and it was the BEST Omelette I’ve had in many years. Just perfect. It’s not Daniel’s Steak House type of restaurant but it’s not supposed to be although Susan was a top notch Customer Service Server of any high end caliber.

Shari’s is a friendly family diner with affordable good food and I was shamefully but pleasantly surprised despite my original ignorant assumption upon visiting. Thanks to the chef and Susan for setting me straight by simply providing an amazingly great experience with SUCH good food! I’ve learned my lesson and we will be back in hopes to see you...

I went in with my 3 children to have a meal as I had a voucher on my sheries app for two free meals. My children ordered burgers, and I had the prime dip. I should've looked at the menu a bit harder as I simply got nearly overlooked dry meat in a bun cut in half. Pretty bland, really. The dipping sauce had been spilled out of the little bowl onto my plate, i had medeoker fries. I got the expression that this meal had sat around for a bit. Our waiter did ask if we were good; then came back about 1/2 way thru to make sure we were still ok. I told him we could use allot more napkins because there were only originally 2 place settings at the table designed usually for 4 people. He brought out like 3 more. And we used those because my son had a "hangover burger" and had to wipe his hands after egg yoke dripped all on him. Our weighter never did refil any of our drinks; not once. We I went to pay. I was only allowed to use the one voucher for the meal, but not the other one I had for a reduced priced pie I wanted to take home. As I was paying, I had my wallet sitting on the counter; military ID clearly visible but not tell I got hone and re_remembered that they are supposed to do military discount. Could've been an extra 10% off. My daughter even spoke up as we drove hone that she remembers Sheries from when she was little, and it has seriously gone down hill. I had to agree with her. We have been ordering from Shari’s specifically this location every Sunday since we bought our house. I never complained when the take out orders may have been incorrect, because we go in so regularly errors happen. However, I am very disappointed with the recent customer service I’ve been receiving at this location. I always call in the order to go because it’s the kids and my treat for the week while their dad is gone. However, the last two times I’ve called and I’ve been greeted with really awful customer service the last time we were able to get it worked out this time, I was told I had to get toddler daughter An adult meal if I wanted it to add a modification. Mind you I’ve been doing this same meal ordering for over 4 months. The other option was to pay the same price as her meal and get a side. Normally we are just charged the up charge to do the modification but instead the lady spoke to me like I was an idiot, and belittled me telling me she doesn’t get how I don’t understand what she’s telling me and kept repeating her self instead of even hearing what I was asking her. We are patrons to this facility. Patrons are bread and butter to a business so to treat customers this way astonishes me and is how you loose regular customers. Instead my children and I took our business else where. Not worth dealing with people that treat you this way when the food...
