My partner and I went to this establishment for the very first time. We had a feeling we were going to be in very good shape when we encountered a nearly full house. After we sat down, John came over to take our drink orders and provided expert service throughout our entire stay. My partner ordered the Smokin' Aces platter which consisted of brisket, ribs, chicken and brisket. That also came with two sides and he chose the potato salad and collard greens. Fabulous choice on his part because the meats were done perfectly and absolutely delicious. Collard greens were fine and the potato salad was okay. I chose to smoked brisket sandwich with a side of sidewinder fries. The brisket was smoked to perfection and the fries were fantastic. Total price for both along with the non-alcoholic drinks that we had was $50. I feel we definitely got our money's worth as we left full and happy along with some take home. Travis, who manages the establishment, came and spoke with us. Very friendly and easy to converse with. We told him we thought very highly of his place and we look forward to coming back in the near future and we would highly recommend his restaurant for those looking for a great place to eat! Nice job...

If you were to Live in Memphis or Texas, this is what is called “Tourist BBQ.” Just average in every possible way. Dry ribs, that just kind of had a strange consistency. A little one oz cup of sauce on the side.

The briscut somehow comes out in a consistency of Roast Beef. Chewy and kind of dry as well.

The baked beans were straight out of a can.

I would recommend that you try somewhere else. While I admit I am a bit picky about BBQ, as I have had some of the countries best.

I would actually prefer to go to, say a franchise Mission BBQ, before this place. The truth is that I was REALLY hoping this place would be great as I just moved to the area.

I ate one rib, my gf one piece of brisket, then we left. The bartender was kind of standoffish, rolled her eyes often, and just seemed like she did not want to be bothered while talking to friends.

I get it, restaurant work sucks. I did it for a decade at least. But this place literally has zero going for it, no to mention they did not have the beverages they advertised on the specials out front.

So there you go. My H street Smoking...

Thanksgiving Disaster and it got worse after that. Terrible Experience here. The hours online said the restaurant was open on Thanksgiving and that we could order online. So we placed an order for pick up 12:30 pm, the earliest time for pick up. I worked overnight meaning we had to have dinner at 1:30 pm with the family so I could head to bed at 3:30 pm to be up again around 11 pm for work. Time was of the essence. When we got to the restaurant it was closed. That was bad already. Then I tried calling the restaurant at least six times in the days and weeks to follow, every time, they took down my name and number and order information, telling me a manager or owner would call me back. They even said one day to try calling back every hour until the owner came in, which I did, and every time they had an excuse not to let me talk to them. I never got a refund and they never called back. They never offered credit or a gift card or anything. Is it worth keeping my money that badly to cast such a terrible experience on a...

The chicken was OLD. I'm pretty sure I got reheated OLD chicken from a day or two ago. Not fresh at all. The brussel sprouts are a bit salty but the flavor was really good; just heavy handed on the salts. The ribs were DRY. The baked beans were pretty decent and the large baked potato was good.. the pulled pork was super vinegar-y. Way too much vinegar and way too tangy. You can't even taste the meat. $60 wasted. I bit a bite of each and couldn't do it. Absolutely disappointing. Everything was DRY, SALTY AS EVER OR OLD. You'd think at 1:30pm on a Sunday it would've been fresh lunch foods. I really wanted to like this place but nothing in my taste buds would allow it.

I ordered ribs at 12:45 PM on Sunday March 13th.. I purposely ordered early so that I can get fresh food.. I've never eaten here before and never will again. The food was burnt to the crisp as you will see in the picture and when I arrived there was only one customer sitting at the bar yet it took 20 minutes to get served. The young lady knew my name and ask me if I was Christopher based on the order. When I got home I was sincerely terribly disappointed. I live 35 minutes from the restaurant and did not have time to go back but I'm telling you it is the worst barbecue I've ever had in the Washington DC area.

This place is small but it's a vibe. Dre the manager was awesome and Tori was awesome too. I've been to Texas and had Texas BBQ and this place was in all ways superior. Amazing brisket. I had the cowboy which is a burger with pulled pork in it and other things. Sorry I don't have a photo of that it was gone too quickly. I do have a photo of my wife's loaded baked potato with Mac n cheese and brisket. That was amazing as well. To sum it up: an amazing hole in the wall spot.
