5/5 Stars –Feru Ethiopian Cuisine is A Flavorful Journey Through Ethiopia!

Feru Ethiopian Cuisine offers an unforgettable dining experience, blending rich flavors, warm hospitality, and authentic traditions. From the moment you step in, the inviting atmosphere and aromatic spices transport you straight to Ethiopia.

Injera with Doro Wat – A must-try! The tender chicken stew is rich, deeply spiced, and perfectly balanced with the soft, tangy injera. Special Adotena Kitfo – Exceptionally flavorful beef, with just the right amount of heat and freshness. A standout dish for meat lovers! Walker Vegetarian Combo – A vibrant spread of lentils, greens, beets, cabbage and salads, each bursting with unique spices and textures. Perfect for sharing.

The staff is welcoming and passionate about Ethiopian cuisine, happily guiding you through the menu and explaining each dish. Their warmth enhances the entire experience.

Whether you're new to Ethiopian food or a longtime fan, Feru Ethiopian Cuisine delivers an exceptional meal. Every bite is a celebration of bold flavors and culinary tradition. Highly recommended! 🌟🍛🔥

From the moment I walked into Feru Ethiopian Cuisine, I was greeted with a warm, inviting ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening. The décor is elegant yet comfortable, making it an ideal spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The staff was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, ensuring we felt welcomed throughout our visit. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, each sounding mouth-watering. I decided to try the Feru Ethiopian, and it was simply exquisite. The flavors were beautifully balanced, and the presentation was stunning – almost too pretty to eat! My dining companion opted for the [another dish], which was equally delightful, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. To top off the meal, we indulged in the dessert menu. The Baklava was a heavenly finale, rich and decadent yet perfectly portioned. Overall, Feru Ethiopian Cuisine exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience and can’t wait to return to try more...

I’ve already been to Feru Ethiopian Cuisine twice in its first week—and I’m certain I’ll be back again and again.

On my first visit, I went with my usual go-to: the vegetarian combo. It’s a dish I’ve tried at countless Ethiopian restaurants, but Feru’s version stood out as one of the best I’ve ever had. Each item was vibrant, flavorful, and notably spicier than the typical vegetarian fare—a welcome surprise for someone who loves a bit of heat.

Just three days later, I returned and was encouraged to try the awaze tibs. I’m so glad I did. The dish was bold, tender, and delicious, with the same warming spice that seems to be Feru’s signature touch. I rounded out the meal with a cup of traditional Ethiopian tea, which soothed and satisfied.

Feru is more than a new restaurant—it’s a rising star on H Street NE. Welcome to the neighborhood. I’ll...

I’m Ethiopian, I know Ethiopian food very well and I’ve experienced a number of Ethiopian restaurants in the DMV throughout my living here. Many do a decent job but they still cater to less discerning palates. The awaze tibs alone at Feru can tell you that this restaurant is for true injera lovers. My husband and I ordered delivery: awaze tibs, veggie combo for 2, and the lentil sambusas. First: FINALLY, Shiro worth ordering! Second, no corners cut on the veggies in terms of flavor and how well they cooked them. While we didn’t have the pleasure of dining in, we had an opportunity to connect with the owner and her hospitality is at a level you don’t see in most establishments these days. Feru, we’ve been converted! Thank you 🙏🏽

Feru is the kind of neighborhood gem you hope sticks around forever. The food is outstanding; rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was a hit. It’s such a relief not to have to trek across the city for great Ethiopian food anymore, Feru brings top-tier flavor right to NE DC. What makes it even better is the story behind the place. It’s a family-run business, and you can feel that warmth in everything from the service to the cooking. The owner is kind and welcoming, and her mother is the one crafting the incredible dishes in the kitchen. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable meal in a cozy, local setting. You’ll be glad you went.
