Washington, D.C. needs more places like Snappy’s. Far from the U.S. Capitol in a storied neighborhood, it’s a small bar with a big personality that’s inclusive of all and accessible to everybody. Opened by a former bartender at The Dew Drop Inn, it’s open daily from 5 p.m, until very late (between 2-3 a.m.). Dimly lit, the first room with the bar is small but comes with bar seating and standing areas by the walls. There’s one booth and a popcorn maker. There’s a mural-decorated back outdoor patio with more space. Their menu carries draft beer (there’s even a sour ale), $10 cocktails with a spin, wine, and a few snack items like popcorn and Dino nuggets. Don’t come here for dinner, but the snacks are worth your time. It’s a kind of place that attracts all kinds of people, many looking for community. Go for an event or go with a small group of friends. It’s a place that you’ll come back to over and over again.

🚨 ‼️ 🔔 OKAAAY THIS IS THE BEST BAR IN DC!!!!!!!! Snappys is the spot DC has been waiting for — cozy vibes, great drinks, and awesome people. I would start walking out the door to go right now if I were you… It feels like you are in your best friends house and also simultaneously at a birthday party. Everyone is so damn welcoming and they treat you like family. Genuinely. When you leave everyone says ‘see you tomorrow’ no matter what even if you aren’t seeing them tomorrow🥹 !!! They also have cute eclectic art, snacks, awesome music and you can bring your dogs🤭 it’s so sweet and my new favorite hangout spot. They also have a huge outdoor backyard and I can’t wait to chill there during summer! This is the SPOT!!! 10/1000 I honestly don’t like bars or go to bars ever lol but I LOVE this one. And maybe I do like bars now because of snappys??? You def should check it out you will love it

Great dive bar up in Petworth. The cocktails and vibe are good. They do their ranch water in topo Chico. Frozen coffee drink is also good. I like the skeleton but as a Philly girl don’t love the pro Steelers vibes. Red lighting in the bathroom was a little scary plus it’s down a creepy staircase hallway but I guess that’s kind of what this place is going for. Oh they also have Dino chicken nuggets and bagel bites. Bagel bites were a little disappointing but that’s on corporations not the bar.

This is really a perfect little neighborhood dive bar. There’s a distinct sense the proprietors are lovers and students of the dive bar aesthetic, and it shows in the perfectly curated and interesting bric-brac, and the perfectly trashy but delicious food options (bagel bites !! dino nuggets !!). At the same time there’s nothing at all gimmicky or overly campy about the place, nor is it “too cool for school.” Just great fun relaxed divey vibes. Like others have said, it really probably is the...
