I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was unwelcoming. We waited a few minutes with no greeting or acknowledgment. The girl at the grill didn’t even turn around to say hello, and Danilo, who eventually took our order, was extremely unprofessional—no smile, no greeting, just a cold attitude that made us feel like we were bothering him.

I originally asked for Birria tacos, but Danilo told me I’d have to wait about 10 minutes because the grill was busy cooking chicken. I ended up ordering a burrito instead. What shocked me most was that the woman cooking the chicken was also eating at the grill while preparing food. That raised major concerns for me about cleanliness and food safety.

When I asked Danilo if the horchata was refillable, he didn’t even answer—just moved his face like I was annoying him. The food was just okay, certainly not worth the $50 we spent on two meals. For that price, I expect much better service and professionalism.

The restaurant wasn’t even busy, and now I understand why. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service and a poor...

This is a favorite for those working at or near the Washington Convention Center which is less than two blocks away. Tourists have also added this location to their favorites.

If I don't have a lot of time I take out. But when I have the time I love to dine in and watch the people walk by.

The staff is always very friendly and patient. It's the perfect location for fresh made to order options. When it gets busy, and the line is out the door, the crowd moves quickly. Orders are always accurate and the portions are plentiful. This location gives Chipotle a run for their money. When it comes to freshness, soft taco options, enormous burritos and bowls, all boxes are checked. Plus their frozen margaritas are awesome. They also have a happy hour special. Plus let's not forget Taco Tuesdays which includes a meat selection and two toppings.

You can also eat upstairs and when the weather is nice you can sit outdoors as well. Their breakfast options are also appealing. If you are a regular please sign up for their points program. The points can be used for...

So I've been going here for a long time for their Taco Tuesday special where I get big, delicious tacos for only $2.50 but they went up to $2.75. Ok, not a big deal. However, I ordered 3 tacos the other day at $2.75 each which = $8.25 plus tax at .06% comes to $8.745 but somehow the male cashier (who I never saw before) charged me $9.06. Even with a 5 cent bag tax, my order still shouldn't have been more than $8.80. I even looked at the cashier and asked if that was right and he grinned and said, "yeah, you ordered 3 tacos". I didn't question him because I didn't have my cell phone out to do the math so I paid and left. If the cashier overcharged me on purpose, then I'm sure he's doing it to other customers so be ready to have your calculators ready!! Anyway, I saw an ad on facebook later that night for a new restaurant on H St. NE called Taqueria Los Perez that offers a better Taco Tuesday deal than Sol Mexican Grill at $1.75 so I'll check them out...

I am from Texas and know Mexican food, but this is not Mexican food. I rarely eat Mexican food anywhere except in my hometown because San Antonio has the best in the country. This place was new to me and I thought it was a small business owned eatery. It is not, they have several if not more. My experience. 1. I walk in and they looked (two of them) bored and as If they hated being there. No smiles, no "hello welcome" 2. I asked to have my tortillas warmed up and toasted. He made a feeble attempt as they were still cold and from a plastic bag that you get from the store, so that was a clue this was just a fast food wanna be Mexican place. 3. The Asada was luke warm at best and dry. It was just horrible. I am Mexican-American and I know what it is suppose to taste like. People in DC have no clue what Mexican Food is suppose to taste like so they are being fooled. What a waste. I will never go back.

We were drawn into this restaurant by the $2.75 tacos for taco Tuesday. These were pretty uninspired tacos, but they were fine. We both got two carne asada tacos and they came with two toppings and a salsa. I tried both the spicy and medium salsas. The spicy wasn't very spicy. The medium was better because it was more flavorful (obviously not more spicy). The real crime here was that they call themselves a Mexican restaurant and they don't even have corn tortillas 🤌. Can't complain too much about a $2.75 taco. But I probably won't be hitting them up again any time soon.

I used to love this place. I ordered a quesadilla online for pickup. When I brought it home, I saw there were two giant bites out of the top slice of quesadilla. I tried to reach out to let them know this happened (the website asks you to text with a number) and nobody ever got back to me. After reaching out again by text and tweet, still nobody responded. I reported it to the DC Health department, which followed up with an inspection, which reported several violations. I wouldn't eat here again.
