My husband and I dined here for our 4 year anniversary and had an amazing time. Our waiter, Lucas, was great to talk to and very helpful. He came at a timely manner and made sure we were always being attended to. We were seated by the large window upstairs which we loved and the owner printed a “Happy Anniversary!” note for our table which was such a nice touch and surprise! We had a res at 5pm so it was nice and quiet which we prefer but it definitely gets busier later!

Now the food. We eat a lot of sushi and wow, our servings were so fresh and I could taste the difference, especially in the yellowtail and tuna. The tamago had a perfect balance of sweetness and excellent texture. We were stuffed silly by the end but had to try the steak. We found space in our stomachs as soon as we took the first bite. What a way to end the main meal. The meat just melted in our mouths! And my Yuzu cocktail was absolutely delicious and I crushed 2 of them.

The star of the show, surprisingly, was the mango sorbet. I think I had a dream about it last night. My husband and I agreed that it brought us right back home to the Philippines. The texture of the sorbet was something we’ve never experienced. I now can’t imagine eating a mango unless it was the same texture as that sorbet 😍 (maybe, I do love mango).

We really appreciated the owner telling us the story of the wallpaper and we were honored to be seated by it. I couldn’t put my finger on why it felt so unique to me compared to other manga wallpaper, but once he explained it made so much sense. He expressed congratulations to our anniversary as well which was lovely and wonderful. And thank you for the sorbet on the house! 🥰 we’ll definitely be back to try the Miso Cod, as suggested by our waiter! I’d love to have the Mentaiko as well.

My only tiny complaint is the sink area outside the restrooms upstairs is very dark. It’s not well lit, but it didn’t ruin our night or anything so not taking any stars off!

Thank you, Sushi Saito, for making our anniversary special! Can’t wait for the...

My partner and I have been talking about visiting Sushi Sato since it opened a few weeks ago and finally made it there for happy hour this evening. I'm so glad that we did - everything was fantastic. Their happy hour is 7 days a week, which is rare in DC, and they have a variety of specials including $1 gyoza (chicken or veggie), $2 shrimp tempura and $3 beers. We tried them both and they were delicious - the gyoza wrapping was delicate with a flavorful filling and they were clearly freshly made. The shrimp tempura was also great, with a light batter and a clean, crunchy taste. We also got an order of the Yellowtail Scallion rolls which we both enjoyed. Our bill with two beers was $27 (before tip) which is virtually unheard of! The service was also great - unobtrusive but attentive, with warm greetings and regular check ins. We will definitely be back to try the all you can eat sushi and we're excited to hear they'll be having a speakeasy / karaoke bar opening on the third floor sometime in November. ...

My girlfriend and I LOVE coming to Sushi Sato! The $75 all you can eat premium option is the best, we prefer it over any other sushi restaurant. There’s also a $55 regular all you can eat, but if you want real crab rolls and the octopus taco, it’s worth paying the $20 premium. They have amazing tuna crispy rice, they use real crab in their rolls, and the quality of salmon and sashimi is amazing! They have great sake too, all grades, good quality, and hot sake. They have an all-you-can-drink option too, and they have everything you can think of, well priced. The owner Simon and his staff are very friendly, shoutout Laura as well. The interior is well designed and very nice, has a modern feel with wooden esthetics and big windows to let in a lot of natural night, with a cute balcony for sunny days! Great for big groups. If you’re looking for a bite of sushi, or looking for a great value all you can eat option, definitely come...

My friends and I did the premium AYCE (75$) tl;dr if you are expecting high quality sushi/sashimi, you might not get it. If you want a lot of food, you will get your moneys worth. PROS: 1. The staffs were nice 2. The steak and black cod were good (grilled) CONS: 1. The fish/sushi was not fresh - octopus, shrimp, and tamago (egg) tasted like it was frozen products defrosted. 2. Roe and mackerel were fishy 3. You can only put in 8 orders at a time, which is somewhat disturbing to your eating pace. There were times that we had to wait a while until our next foods came out, which made us full in the meantime 4. The karaage (friend chicken) was not seasoned at all, which was not to my liking but it could be tasty to others 5. Some dishes were overly salty and some dishes were not seasoned at all Overall, very nice staff (REALLY NICE!!) but the food quality isn’t up to par with how much you are paying.
