After many friends told me not to go here, I chose this place anyway to try for my Birthday dinner this year and was disappointed. Food was expensive and not great. My whole table didn't care for theirs so we took it home and gave it to our chickens. Food is selective, the menu is little and consists of odd ingredients. Seafood, steak, salad and hamburgers.... I wanted a hamburger but the selection of ingredients with each option was gross to me so with nothing I could pick I ordered plain (bun, meat, and I added ketchup). I love hamburgers but with regular ingredients like pickles, or regular cheddar cheese... you won't find that here? My dad loves seafood and steak which he ordered and he won't go back. You have to order yourself & seat yourself. We had to repeat ourselves over & over again for them to hear our order as it is a bar type scene and very loud at 5pm when we went. My dad paid for the whole table and tipped in a huge cash tip and I feel awful none of us enjoyed our meal. We should of cancelled our orders when none of us liked the appetizers.... Unfortunately we will not go back. Los Dos across the street is much better and they even have amazing hamburgers being a...
Read moreNot as good as at first. The first year they were open, the food was tasty & drinks well-poured. We’re -not- fans of the “order at the counter, take a number” style. Or the QR scan code method that should’ve gone away after covid. We’d rather interact & leave a bigger tip. We tolerate it. Food has since gone downhill, & lead manager is a chintz on the beverages. If he takes the order (at the counter), he’ll use that carafe that short pours the customer. For wine that wholesales for under $5/bottle, the least he could do is match the big wine glasses they use there. He also neglected (forgot to communicate) all of our requests for side items. Our guess us that they started with a good chef, but probably pissed them off, so now food is meh, without much flavor (ordered a prime burger- the horseradish was non-existent). Same for the salmon, & chicken Gordon bleu. The floor staff/runners are as nice as they’ve ever been. Good people! Mgt. needs to up his customer game, his & owners decisions are beginning to show consequences. No longer as impressed....
Read moreI'm quite scared of bar-like places, but I decided to try Washougal Times anyway. I'm a bit sheltered and the serving style weirded me out at first, ordering in the front, taking a number, and having the food come to you after a while. The interior was a super casual and country-like place. Everyone seemed to be comfortable inside. I do like how friendly and kind all of the waiters and waitresses were. The tables were a bit dirty, but not bad. You can sit anywhere you want anyway.
I was so surprised by the quality of the food. They have great dishes, and would highly recommend their macaroni and cheese, super tasty and addictive. They have a different soup of the day, and I came on a day they served seafood corn chowder. I do not like salmon so I wasn't a huge fan, but I tried it and it was okay. I took it home to my fish-loving mother and she said it was the best chowder she's ever had! So I promised her I'll take her here sometime. I'm sure she'll love the salmon risotto...
