I came in to get breakfast with my medical alert service dog and was very rudely denied and told to leave. I was astonished to say the least at the complete lack or care and knowledge by the waitress who told me to leave. As soon as I entered the building she immediately told me no he wasn’t allowed in here. I informed her he is my medical alert service dog. She replied back “he doesn’t have his stuff (I’m assuming she meant a “vest” yet service dogs are not legally required to wear one. He had a labeled collar on) and it’s breakfast time, there’s no where for you to sit with him cause he has to be under the table.” I pointed out his collar and told her that he is able to tuck under a chair if needed and as I tried to lightly educate her she abruptly pointed her finger at the door and told me to leave. There was a sign on the door that said “sorry only service animals allowed” but apparently not. It is illegal to deny a service animal into an establishment just “because it’s breakfast time and there’s no room”. I will most definitely not be returning again and will tell other people also. I hope they educate their staff and management...
Read moreProbably the 'Shoug's oldest dive bar. We had really great and friendly service. It was "wing Wednesday", but they were understandably out of wings because earlier in the day a beer vendor was there handing out free beer samples. The promo on our table said wings were "4 for $8" and I asked if that was backwards because you would expect a good deal for wings to be "8 for $4". The server explained that each wing drum and flat counted as 1 so, in conventional wing thinking, it would be "8 for $8" and also she said they were huge, full-sized, wings and not the normal tiny ones. At any rate, they were out, but recommended their broasted chicken was the same without the sauce. Without the sauce, they were freshly prepared and very hot (temp not flavor), but would have benefited from additional flavor of some kind from sauce like their wings would get. I'll probably go back on a Wednesday to give the wings a try. They also had several draft beers including a few decent craft selections. The evening crowd were obviously regulars and locals and they were all having a great time. The beer prices...
Read moreA poem about Bigfoot Inn, written with ChatGPT-3.5, but heck it's fun, and so is this place.
I celebrate the Bigfoot Inn, A place where wanderers gather in, Sharing stories of the road and the trail, And raising a glass to the unknown and the unveiled.
I sit among the travelers and the seekers, Feeling the warmth of camaraderie and the features, Of a place that welcomes all who roam, And offers a respite from the unknown.
The Bigfoot Inn, a haven for the curious, A place where strangers become friends in a hurry, And the stories of the road become our own, As we sit and listen and learn and groan.
Here, in this bar on the north side of the river, We find a home among the unknown and the giver, Of life and love and the beauty of the wild, And the mysteries of the earth that have...
