Girlfriend ordered Fettuccine Alfredo and a salad and said were delicious. Daughter and I had minestrone, and it was the thickest most flavorful, almost stew like, minestrone I have ever had. The sautéed mushrooms where meaty and in a delectable olive oil. It didnt need anything else, but the last half I dashed some parm and it took it to another level!
For entrée, my daughter had the Chicken Evangelo and was unlike any Italian dish she has ever had and was amazed! For my entrée, I had the Cannelloni. This is were my issues started but didn't end.
It was smothered with cheese and smelled amazing. It had beef and pork blend with onion and spinach in a meat sauce. I cut through and took my first bite and the only thing I tasted was meat. Plain meat. Im looking through to make sure I got a bit of everything and looks like I had. I pulled a noodle out and instead of a tubular noodle like a manicotti, it looks like the store bought lasagna noodles and spiralled to make a tube like noodle. I take another bite and make sure all the fixings are on the fork and not anything but bland meat. I rinsed my mouth thoroughly and even added a decent amount of salt to enhance flavor and the taste didnt change.
When my party asked what was up, I explained and said maybe its just me but asked if someone would take a bite and see if I was having an issue. My daughter took a bite and she said "I can see cheese, but I csnt taste it. I see its in a tomato sauce but I cant even taste that." The waitress, Grace B, stopped by to check on us and I had mentioned the issue. I told her there wasnt any flavor and that my daughter even tried. She asked if I wanter her to wrap it up to take home and I said, no I wouldn't eat this. She said okay, took my plate and walked off.
She never asked, and never returned to ask, if I would like a remake or another menu item. At this point my psrt still have more than half their meals on their plates as I waited awkwardly. I had turned to my girlfriend to converse about the situation and finally Grace popped back around and asked "is there anything else wrong?" I said no? And she said "okay, well your body is turned as if there was something else, but okay" and walked away.
Again, she doesn't ask if she could offer something else, possibly another soup or some more mushrooms. A customer shouldn't have to ask for customer service. At this point I'm feeling the House is saying "tough titties the food sucked, move along". Considering there was more than half of the plate still there (think 8 inch long, 3.75 inch wide ramekin) this wouldnt be charged. My girlfriend goes to use the restroom and Grace brings the check. I look and the Cannelloni is on the check.
Grace comes back around and I said "excuse me, but I need you to take this dish off" she said she cannot do that as more than half the dish was eaten. I said, no I only consumed maybe a third of rhe dish as I was making sure i wasnt wrong and my daughter had a bite to confirm. Grace says "so that dish has three noodles and upon inspection there was only one noodle left." I said that there was more meat cheese and sauce than the three noodles, and the meat (pork and beef) were of more value than the pasta; I'm also disappointed that you didnt offer a remake or another choice for a meal. Grace says "well I didn't offer a remake because it wouldnt have changed anyrhing; they come to us premade". And I ask, oh so its not even made in house, which she again confirms. I said if I had known that I wouldnt have ordered it in the first place. She says the best she can do is take 50% off as she already asked her manager and he also saw the returned food.
What pisses me off here is that, the manager saw and okayed a resuced price. However, she still tried to get the full retail price on a 2/3rd's returned dish. For dinner this was $22, lunch is $20. Restaurants TYPICALLY (but not all) up mark 3 times wholesale for their profit margin. So roughly, wholesale would be about $7.33 if we use the dinner price of $22.00. [Continued in...
Read moreI love their food, and I have not had a problem with the staff in a long time. The last time was a year or two ago. It was not the fault of the owner or management but an individual that worked for Evangelos and Pizza Hut on different shifts. We called a order in and paid with a Credit Card the individual kept a copy of the card information and used it at Pizza Hut! I got that straightened out and refunded by the manager at Pizza Hut. I informed the manager at Evangeloes I don't know if any action or not. Everything has been great since then and incident-free, that's until our last order. My wife attempted to order dinner the girl told her neither of the cards she tried to use would go through and that they were denied by the banks. So my wife told the individual that she would call back to complete the order transaction once we got with the banks to see what was going on with our cards. Being later in the evening their customer service department were cl9ser so we made our dinner and about an hour latter the order from Ev as ngeloes showed up, my wife asked the driver what was going on he was clueless so thinking the order was accidently put through without being paid for she sent it back to the restaurant thinking nothing of it. The next day she saw the transaction was charged to our Wells Fargo account on my card so I contacted the restaurant and over two days spoke with three or four people to no avail. We spend several hundred dollars a year there but for now we will not use them. So I advise you to watch your bank/Crdit card...
Read moreEdit: We've been here a handful of times over the last year and we're back again for my birthday. Hubs made sure to ask @ the prime rib being med. rare so he's a happy camper. Tonight I order the seafood augratin and OH MY GOODNESS! It was absolutely amazing! Some crustini and or a spoon would've nice though. We've also ordered pizza here several times and will say, the extra price is well worth it! It's the best pizza in the valley so far! Man! That seafood Augratin was amazing!**
We went here for my birthday dinner. Wait time was about 20mins so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink. Service all around was good. Disappointment came when our prime rib dinners were delivered over cooked. We ordered medium rare and from the pix you can see they were medium. The waitress did go back and apparently they had run out of Med-rare and failed to notify the servers. Ok I was looking forward to some nice in season veggies but they were super soggy...I'd swear they were frozen...very bland. Lastly, we were 1/2 way through our meals when we realized that they gave my husband both of our horseradish cups....I figured they just served without. Little complaints really...
