I have always loved Knik pizza! This was the first time I have been disappointed. I ordered through their website at exactly 5:30 p.m. I received a confirmation email at 5:30 saying I’d receive my order (2 XL pizzas) at 6:20 p.m. I immediately received a text at 5:31 saying that my pizza wouldn’t be ready until 7:00 now.
I still hadn’t received my order at 7:15 so at 7:17 I called to see if I could get an order update. The lady on the phone was VERY, VERY polite and nice. She checked on my status and she said that my order was ready and they were just waiting on one of their delivery drivers to get back to bring me my order.
I called back at 7:31 to see if any of their drivers had made it back yet and the lady said that they hadn’t but that she would call to see where they were at. She put me on hold and checked on them. She said that they were 5 to 7 min out from the Kink pizza to pick up my order. Again, the lady on the phone was VERY polite and kind. I asked her if she new how long my order had been ready and if it was going to be cold when I got it. She said she’d check for me. When she got back on the phone she said the cook told her that it has been ready for only about 10 min. I asked her if she could call me when it was on the the way and she told me that she would do that.
I got a call from her at 7:48 saying that it was on the way. I received my order at 8:02.
When the driver got here, he was very polite, kind and apologetic.
I ordered an XL Cheeseburger pizza an an XL pickle pizza. When I opened the boxes I realized that the cheeseburger pizza was missing the onions, tomatoes and pickles. I called Knik back and talked to the same lady again. Again, very polite and kind! I let her know about the pizza, and after apologizing a ton, she gave me store credit for a free XL pizza. I thought that was fair and was happy with the resolution.
The pizza was very good and tasty like always, even the one that was missing all the veggies.
I took off 1 star for how long it took to get my order which was 2 hrs 32 min, and I took off 1 star for missing all the veggies on one pizza. I didn’t take off more than 2 stars because of the polite and kind customer service and the resolution to the mistake...
Read moreWe thought we would try Knik Pizza to support a new local business and were excited they would deliver to Fairview Loop. Yet....After calling them we were told they could not deliver any sooner than an hour and a half to two hours. They told me it would only be 30-45minutes to order for pickup.
OK I thought..not that big a of a deal picking up the pizza. Then when I got there and I checked both pizzas they handed me, low-and-behold they screwed them both up. I did not even realize how bad they had screwed them up until they pointed out the toppings supposed to only be on one half of pizza A were actually put on all of pizza B and toppings not supposed to be on Pizza A were on Pizza A.
Add to this the fact there was only about 20 small bits of olives and a couple slices did not even have a single olive on them. The other two toppings on the pizza, Canadian Bacon and pineapple, were also on the skimpy side. What was the point of even making the pizza if there is not a decent amount of toppings.
To further add to this less-than-wonderful experience, the person they let make pizzas has no idea how to properly throw pizza dough. The thickness of the dough from the center out 4-6 inches was between 1/16" and 1/8" of an inch increasing to 5/8" the last couple inches before the crust. So because the person making the pizza just stretched the dough as quickly as possible leaving most of the dough on the outside of the pizza, you could not even pick up a piece to eat it without the toppings sliding off. The center of the pizza was so thin you could almost not even tell there was crust between the toppings and the plate.
As if my experience thus far was not bad enough, there was no sign of anything remotely resembling customer service when they charged me for the entire price for each pizza. They thought simply giving me a $5off coupon for my next screwed up order would keep me happy. They screwed up 100% of my pizza and charged me 100% of the price for two correct pizzas.
This business and the product they serve for real money is what you get when you combine non-existent customer service, with terrible attention to detail, clearly unskilled kitchen staff, insufficient amount of toppings and pizza cooked at the wrong...
Read moreA few days ago marked the first anniversary of the loss of someone very dear to me. So my mom decided to surprise me with something special. She knows my tastes, and ordered a Cheese-Lovers pizza with stuffed crust, and added tomatoes as a topping. I love cheese pizza with tomato. Unfortunately, when she gifted me the pizza, I opened it to find a stuffed-crust Meat-Lovers pizza with tomato. I’m a vegetarian. When Mom talked to the manager to explain what happened, she snapped at my mother that she (my mom) ordered the Meat-Lovers, claiming that she heard her. A man took Mom’s order, and no one else was in the lobby. My mother insisted she ordered the Cheese-Lovers, and was told, “No. You ordered the Meat-Lovers.” She (the manager) insisted it was Mom’s mistake. But why would a woman who is allergic to pepperoni order a Meat-Lovers pizza for her vegetarian daughter whose husband is Hindu (and doesn’t eat beef)? They charged $37.66 for a pizza no one in our household can eat.
In summary: Knik Pizza ripped off a 68-year-old veteran who tried to do something nice for her bereaved daughter.
EDIT in response to owner’s reply:
You were not there when she placed the order. If you did, in fact, look into this matter, you are relying on what your staff tells you. I was not there when she placed the order, and I am relying on what my mother tells me. You were not there when she picked up the order, so again, you would be relying on what your staff tells you. I, however, was there when she picked it up. Policy or not, they did not show us the pizza. We did not say it looked great. No one in our household could eat it. I was also present when the phone call was made. The manager did not attempt a conversation. My mother did, but was continually cut off. The manager would not listen, and instead shifted blame.
Why would we make this up? We have...
