I grew up in Dominic and vinnies pizza and I recently moved to Florida and just came home for a college roommates wedding and the first place I missed most (because Florida pizza is HORRIBLE, unless they get their water shipped from up north) was Dominic & Vinnies. I miss the taste of what REAL pizza should really taste like when the dough rises correctly. The atmosphere in there is family friendly and the employee Nicole at the front desk is always a refreshing face to see. Dominic and Vinnies on Wolcott street is the OG in the pizza game. If you’re ever looking for good quality, & justifiable price points on their pies due to how big and the quality of the pizza, plus great customer service… Dominic and Vinnie’s on Wolcott Street in Waterbury CT is the place to go. Again, ask for Nicole at the front desk and I promise your order will be taken care of and then some. You can tell everyone loves where they work. I’m in the industry myself and watching a kitchen staff and FOH staff get along and enjoy their shifts, is always a plus on the employee ends of things. You can tell the whole place is passionate about their jobs and love what they do; it’s evident! If you haven’t tried Dominic and Vinnies on Wolcott street, I HIGHLY ...
Read moreD&V offers a pie that you dont come across often. Their dough is like old world rustic giving you a hearty thick base and pronounced crust w/lots of chew and serious bite. Their sauce is somewhat mild in one sense but also has an old school feel to the seasoning blend they use. Their cheese is a very good quality. Plus ordering a large me and my kid were handed a hefty square pie in a paper bag, thats hype presentation. Their was nice charring on the slices and the smell when cracking the bag open was A1 overall really impressed I mean check the cracking on the crust pic ppl!... Square cut slices are always fun too. My only poins off came in the form of overall salt levels from dough to cheese it just was a bit too high for me. Outside of that I can't argue. The price was a bit on the high side but then a large is reallllly effin large and one slice is pretty dense tbh you can get a few ppl in on a pie n not be shorted. So def worth a try if you're a pizza fan and I'll be back around again sometime...
Read moreMy grandfather took my father to this pizza joint in the 50s when it was just a tiny little establishment in the rear of the lot where it is now located. My father took me there as well many many times in the 70s & 80s. I can still remember Dominic's set in the back of that lot by itself. Was not much of a dine in place but rather a take - out. This was my father's favorite pizza and my favorite too. That lot has since been developed and shared with other retaiI stores. The name has change to Dominic's & Vinny's now, but it is still the same family and great pizza. I also remember when Vinny was flying solo at the Meriden Rd. & Frost Rd. location. I have tried near every pizza joint in Connecticut, including the famous joints in New Haven . There are a handful of great pizzas out there, but none quite like D&V. This pizza is perfection every single time. " The way it was meant to be" ! Thank you D&V for the many years of awesome pizza. How about a Bristol/Farmington...
