J C Hook's Cafe — Restaurant in Waterbury

12/2022 we dropped in here after a Christmas party so my partner could sing some karaoke, say hello to the owner, Jimmy, who he hadn't seen for awhile and is a nice guy. The Friday night karaoke host, DJ Extraordinaire, told us he just returned to this gig two weeks ago after taking a long needed break. Great voice. The room is a little rough. Entertainment outside of singing, anyway, is pool. There are a few pool tables for enthusiasts. Bar food available. Inexpensive drinks. Closes at 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays and is open seven days a week except for holidays. Except for Tuesday's which opens earlier (11am), they open in the afternoon at two or three....

Hi! My reasoning for the low review unfortunately is it took us a very long time to get waited on, because of some missing credit card miscommunication or something. I was so hungry no food. I was like the only one paying to put music on so was very bored! The crack seat ripped my tights, so I had to change out my own chair, My boyfriend went outside to smoke and got locked out a half hour before closing by an employee! There's so little employees that people just leave with their drinks still in hand! To me that's a liability! I want you to succeed! But whatever's going on isn't helping! This place need someone like John Taffer...
