For the past 3 years when I ordered the breakfast meals I would usually get The Big Man, or the Sweety. Because of an allergy to sulphur I cannot eat onions, which was just fine because the breakfast meals I ordered never had onions in them... UNTIL 11/01/24. I ordered the Sweety that morning and got my usual Biscuits & Gravy with eggs and bacon. This time however someone on the cooking staff decided to get dangerously creative and put plenty of onions in the sausage gravy. Staff there knows of my allergy so I didn't think anything was wrong until my second bite into my meal. When I started to have difficulty breathing and felt my tongue starting to swell I knew something was wrong. I looked and saw that some idiot had changed up the menu specifications without warning as I found plenty of diced onion in the gravy. Unfortunately I love onion but it sure hates me now after I had a stroke several years ago. If you have any kind of allergy be extremely wary, cooking staff will change up things without giving a warning. I cannot trust the cook staff here any more which is sad because I used to really enjoy...
Read moreI've just eaten here for the first time, so my review will stick to that experience. Overall, a bright, clean place with friendly staff all decked out for St Patrick's Day. I came here for the chicken and waffles, a wonderful combination at a bargain price. First, you get 4 pieces of real broasted chicken, breast, leg, thigh, wing. I've been eating chicken and waffles since the 80s, and IMO, it should only be served with whole pieces, preferably Southern fried, but the broasted bird at Dixie is a fine substitute, and far superior to the strips or wings only approach of most diners. Now, a few nitpicks to turn a great breakfast into an outstanding one. The waffle was a little underdone, arriving looking pale as opposed to the honey gold trademark waffle finish. It tasted okay, but not so great on looks. Serve the waffle on a warm plate with warm syrup. It was cold before I ate even half of it. Other than that, if you're a fan of chicken and waffles, you owe yourself a trip to...
Read moreMy daughter wrote a review for her 2nd grade class assignment, thought we would share! Dixie Diner is an amazing restaurant! It is one of my favorite restaurants we’ve ever been to. The waitresses are so friendly and greet you when you come in. The food is so delicious and it comes very fast. My favorite booth is in the corner, it wraps around and has fake yellow flowers that I love! Here’s some reasons I think you should go to Dixie Diner. The first reason I think you should go to Dixie Diner is because when you walk in, you will see a silly mirror that makes you tall or small by moving close to it or far away from it. The next reason you should eat here is because there are gumball machines and toy machines too, when you walk in. Another reason to come here is there is a counter with stools you can sit and eat at, and you can also see the kitchen cook! If you’ve never been to Dixie Diner you should...
