After countless disappointments and being shuttled between different specialists, I had given up hope of finding a place that could provide the extensive dental work I needed at a cost that I could afford as a single mother. I came across an advertisement for Oakland Family Dental and decided to schedule a free consult. I am so glad I did! The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by a group of smiling faces who all greeted me by name. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I immediately felt at home.

I couldn’t be happier.

I was scheduled for an appointment yesterday to get temporary crowns and a bridge to prevent my tooth decay and give me confidence. For 3 years my teeth had been rotting due to complications of chronic vomiting/malnutrition, leaving me with pain and insecurities about opening my mouth. I also was missing one of my top incisors for 15 years, often making me feel self conscious with pictures.

The staff are extremely precautious about the spread of Covid, wearing suits with full face ventilators and thoroughly cleaning surfaces after each use. This made feel safe as Im at risk for covid complications.

I had to fast a while because I was going under sedation, which was hard for my condition, but as soon as they were ready for me I knew I was in the right hands. They made sure I felt safe and comfortable as I got in. One of the nurses held my hand as I went under, gave me a blanket and pillow and calmed me with small talk. Even though I’ve experienced general anesthesia multiple times, I still get scared. Thank you for helping me calm down.

I can’t remember a thing from the time the anesthesia/ amnestic went in to the time I was walking into my house to rest. After the medications wore off and I was more aware, I realized how beautiful even the temporaries looked. I mean, it looked like normal teeth in a normal jaw, not the diseased looking teeth I had before. It brought tears to my eyes and my family’s eyes.

The staff here are legitimately professionals, they gave an outcome that I felt wasn’t achievable. They surpassed the skills of every other dental clinic I’ve been to in the Waterford area, and for that I thank them. I have been going to Oakland Family Dental for nearly two years now. I was nervous at first especially since it was a new dental office and I hadn't been to a dentist office and many years. So I didn't know what to expect. In my time there there had been some up and downs on both ends.

Yet I still keep going, the amount of professionalism with the added wholesome family touch this dental office provides is nothing short of exemplary. The Oakland Family Dental team is a very educated and delightful team that know how to serve your needs. I recently under went some new laser treatment for sleep apnea Very affective an new intresting way to help treat sleep apnea. Very conveint and affordable and amazing knowing i can take care of more than just my teeth while under Dr. Sheehan professional state of the art care.

Dr. Sheehan and her team pride themselves on staying up to date on all the latest dental and sleep apnea standards and cutting edge tech and her office offers much more than most dentist offices can provide. Being a top proffesional in Dr. Sheehans feilds of expertise I know im safe and in good hands.

There had been some hiccups along the way on both my end as well as theirs regarding communication. I suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury and there understanding and attention to my disability and needs was above an beyond the call. They have blessed me and made me a life long member of there dental family.
