Gyro Hut — Restaurant in Waterloo

This place sucked. It took too long to order my food and too long to get it. The lady working the register had to continuously explain customer orders to the two men preparing food, so it took that much longer to order. The register is computerized so all the lady had to do was key in the order but the cooks didn't seem to understand what the computer was outputting. This was painful to watch and she was clearly annoyed at how much slower she had to be because of always having to explain to the cooks. Even with the order tickets in front of them the cooks had to ask customers what they wanted on their sandwiches.

The grill is in a position where you can see what the cooks are doing. Grill management was abysmal. The guys didn't seem to know how to manage the limited space on their small grill.

It took over 25 minutes to get my food. What's worse is that they took the meat for my sandwich, put it on the grill for about 30 seconds to warm it up a little bit then slapped it on the warm pita. If it weren't for the pita, my sandwich would have been cold. I only had two things on the menu but they were not good.

The one thing the cooks did right was change their gloves. They were very good about changing gloves when handling different types of raw meat for different orders. That was about the only good...

Eat at own risk !!!! Had the wrong food delivered shop asked me to bring the wrong food back and pick up the correct food. I did as requested and watched as they took the food from me and instead of making fresh food for the correct customer gave him the food that was delivered to me .... I'm sorry if McDonald's can't take a drink back after it touches a customers hands how is this ok. I say helth code violation. When I asked for my delivnery fee to be refunded (only fair) I has some disgusting looking I done ever know what shoved in my bag and dismissed. My family has been dining here for years, absolutely loved their big boys and my husband loved their chicken gizzards. Last time I ordered I was sent something completely different than what I asked for. I gave it the benefit of the doubt because I loved their food. This time once again my “big boy” arrived in no way like it has always been made for the last few years. There was no zeke sauce like they always had on it, no veggies to speak of. It was covered in green peppers and was so dry!! it was more like a gyro burger than what i ordered. my husband's gizzards (of the few he received. the portion was ridiculously tiny!) they were mummified.
