Waterloo Convention Center — Attraction in Waterloo

I had the pleasure of attending the Waterloo Schools Foundation's "Sparking Academic Excellence Breakfast" this morning. The banquet room was very tastefully decorated and the set up for our speakers (audio/video, stage placement, etc...) allowed everyone to enjoy our speakers.

Most importantly, the room beautifully accommodated all of our amazing student exhibits around the entire perimeter. They were the true stars of the day!

It's wonderful to be able to celebrate the Waterloo Schools and the WS Foundation right in the heart of our city.

The venue is nice. It seems management has problems staffing the show. Service counters not staffed with enough people or supplies. Half way through the day, any sign of cleaning inside has disappeared. But they are trying the best that they can.

Update: staffing issues seem to be a little better, reconstruction of the facility is still going on when we were there. Escalator removed for a wide staircase, Main floor/Lobby has been added onto, as well as updating the food court area. The outside of the building is also being remodeled as well as the steps and...

I had the chance to to attend Cedar Valley Fashion Arts and Culture Expo this past weekend and I was absolutely impressed by how nice the space looked! I hadn’t been in since the remodel, but the facility was decorated to the nines. The lobby was perfectly clean, the attendants handling bar services were kind, and the lighting elevated the mood for the night.
