Pick Up N Go Soul Food, West 5th in Waterloo full review
We got the crab boil 1, I will say they changed their prices and haven’t changed it online yet; so it was $50($53 after tax) and not $40. They are also only taking cash and cashapp right now as their registers are down, which isn’t their fault.
Food was a 10/10, we got it Togo so it was a little cold but that was again not their fault at all, I could see the steam coming off the food and when they bagged it. The plate was also so full it couldn’t close, so portions are great.
We got 2 clusters of crab, probably 20-25 shrimp, a lb of potato’s, 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 short ears of corn, and a 1/4 of a sausage. The bottom of the plate was also covered in this delicious Cajun butter sauce you just can’t see it.
Service was great too, the lady on the phone (didn’t get her name) was very kind and answered all our questions. A separate lady checked us out and she was nice too, gave us plenty of napkins.
All in all I would 100% go again, just would probably eat there for the...
Read moreHubby and I arrived and I already felt off as the restaurant smelled moldy or something. Went to the desk to order and was met with a grumpy lady who said “can I help you”. Anyway we ordered a seafood boil #2 for 77$ and was told the wait would he 25 minutes. We waited an hour before our food came out. During the wait I realized the smell was due to them smoking IN THE RESTAURANT and it wasn’t just cigarettes. Pretty sure i saw the cook smoking something while IN THE KITCHEN. They claimed the wait was so long due to the potatoes cooking. After our food was done we were already standing up and the cook said “dinning in”? I said no we are going to take it to go now. Bright side was our trey was hot as I was holding it. We bolted out the door. We decided to go to a parking lot and eat our food. It was good but crab and corn were not warm enough. Hubby LOVES seafood and he enjoyed it but I doubt we will be back due to the...
Read moreOnly Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, and the ancient Egyptian pyramids could rival the masterpieces that are created here. I had the pork chop sandwich which was so juicy only the makers of Juicy Fruit could dream of how mouth wateringly tantalizing these bites were. With every munch my senses were taken to the edges of the universe; I could hear colors, see flavors, and taste worlds my body has never traveled to. The only disappointment I had were the lulls in my life between the bites of this food. Seriously, the best pork chop in the world is created here.
The fries, were impeccably seasoned, and the portions bountiful. Christ himself could feed thousands but even he would be perplexed by the plentiful portions piled onto my plate.
I honestly cannot wait to come back here again. The food is some of the best...
