I recently visited a dimsum restaurant and I must say that it was a must-try for any dimsum lover. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand, especially during weekends when the wait time can be more than an hour. The best part about this restaurant is the wide variety of dimsum options available. The staff move around with small trolleys carrying a variety of dimsums, congee, and desserts, making it easy for customers to choose what they want with no wait time for dimsum. The portion sizes are also good for a group of 4 to 6. Some of the must-try items at this restaurant include the chives and shrimp dumplings and the oyster and egg tart. I would not really recommend ordering an entrée, as the dimsum options are more than enough. For adventurous eaters, I recommend trying the chicken feet, which were okay but not as good as the ones I had at Hei La Moon. Unfortunately, there are not many vegetarian options available at this restaurant. Overall, if you are a non-vegetarian who loves authentic Chinese food, I highly recommend checking out this restaurant. The wide variety of dimsum options and quick service make it a great dining experience. Just remember to make a reservation beforehand to avoid long wait times.

Hmm... I was skeptical about Joyful Garden because of the low ratings but I actually enjoyed the dim sum here very much. I had a historical moment at Joyful Garden...it was my first time trying a steamed egg yolk bun and it was delicious! Dim sum is all about variety and being able to eat multiple different dishes and this place definitely has a large variety of dim sum offerings. Having been eating dim sum practically my whole life, I thought there wasn't much left that I wanted to try but Joyful Garden proved me wrong with those buns. My go-to dim sum dishes were all pretty solid: har gow, shu mai, chicken feet, shrimp rice roll, tripe, stomach, fried taro dumpling, and pork spareribs. Joyful Garden also offers short ribs w/black pepper sauce that was a hit with our party. I really have no complaints! Other than they did not bring out that chicken feet soon enough!! But that's just because we were hungry. At the end of our meal we also got this cold coconut milk with tapioca dessert that I do not know the name of. Pretty tasty and refreshing nonetheless. Brunch was delicious and I would definitely make the return trip to this place.

An excellent experience. For an appetizer I had the spring rolls and the vegetarian duck, which were both cooked very well with the perfect balance of vegetables and seasoning. The tofu in the vegetarian duck was very good although perhaps misleading because it has zero taste of duck, so be sure to keep that in mind. For dinner I tried the bean curd (tofu) in chili sauce and the Buddhist delight pan fried noodles, and both were excellent. Silken tofu is used in the tofu in chili sauce which I thought was interesting, and the ma/la is perfectly balanced. They also add some vegetables with some added green pepper and peas. The Buddhist delight pan fried noodles were also very good, the noodles are a little thinner than what most other restaurants do but still delicious. Comes with properly cooked and well seasoned vegetables like bok choy and carrots, as well as an assortment of mushrooms and firm tofu. Highly recommend. One thing they keep in mind is they do have desserts but they don't list it on their regular menu, so be sure to ask for the dessert menu if you want it.

I recently learned that Joyful Garden offers more traditional dim sum menu and wanted to give it a try since it's not far from where I live. We visited in a rainy Friday afternoon and I was surprised it was so busy around 1pm. We didn't have to wait long but wasn't seated right away. It's definitely one of the bigger dining hall dim sum experiences that I've been used to in NYC and here. Even though it's a large area the dim sum cart ladies work fast and made sure to visit us in the corner often. Most of what I got were pretty much what you can find every other dim sum place I was pretty happy they have mango puddings since I normally don't find it in other restaurants. For the food and location definitely a bit more premium but I was happy to find a good dim sum location here and don't have to trek out to Chinatown or Quincy. The parking lot can get very busy but I think a little better on this side vs the Target side.

A solid Cantonese restaurant. They serve dim sum on carts until 3 pm and have a wide selection of dishes. If you don't find anything on the carts, you can also have dim sum made to order. We dined at a weird time (3-4 ish) so we were able to eat both dim sum and dinner dishes. The small selection of dim sum dishes I tried was quite good. It had traditional flavors and a good selection to choose from. Our dinner dishes were good as well. The flavors work very well and are very nostalgic. If you can't choose a dish, I would recommend the pineapple shrimp with walnut. It's a classic and I think Joyful Garden does a good job in execution. Definitely come with a group. There's a lot of space for everyone because it's family style dining. Portions are large and meant for sharing. If you're looking for Canto food near Boston, come here!
