My wife and I decided to stop at Cilantros for lunch on our way home.
We went on a Saturday at around 4pm. It wasn't too busy so there was no wait. It had been a while since I last ate at Cilantros and my wife had never been to the restaurant.
Chips and salsa were immediately brought to our table along with water for both of us. I ordered a Pacifico (draft). The beer was just a tad too warm, but not bad. We ordered an appetizer, the Quesadilla de Johann. It was large. Filled with jack and cheddar chesses, it really could have been a meal by itself. Sour cream, salsa, and guacamole were served with the quesadilla.
For our meals, we both ordered an enchilada dish. Each dish came with 2 enchiladas, rice, and refried beans. I ordered the Enchiladas Casera; one enchilada was filled with shredded beef while the other was filled with cheese. These were topped with red sauce, shredded cabbage, salsa, and sour cream. My wife's enchilada dish was the Enchiladas Verde. Both were filled with grilled chicken and topped with verde sauce and melted cheese. Cabbage, sour cream, and guacamole were served on the side.
Great food! Large portions and very filling. The atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy. The service was speedy as well; we were in and out in less than 60 minutes. Loved the tortilla chips - they came warm and the salsa was great.
We will definitely return! Highly...
Read moreWe went to Cilantro's as it is my daughter 's favorite restaurant (that we would go once a month ever since she was a baby.) It was a surprise for her 27th birthday. We came into SC County to surprise her.
We made reservations and ended up deciding to eat outside in the patio and at first it was great, weather wise but by the time the sun was going down, it started to get cold. We could have used the outdoor heaters at least next to our table.
Excellent carne asada (marinated steak) fajitas with all the bells and whistles. We always order more sides and more tortillas (both corn and flour.) Presentation is so good, on a sizzling cast iron pan. Usually one order of fajitas is sufficient for my two kids and I, with an added side order of rice and beans. You get huge portions!
My growing son also ordered a carne asada super burrito and ate some of the fajitas too.
The guacamole at Cilantro's is second only to Jalisco's in Watsonville!
My kids and I love the Pina Colada virgin style!
We have been coming to Cilantro's for 25 years now. It is always a great choice for lunch or dinner or even happy hour. They used to have dancing there too when they would play music (near the bar). I am not sure if they still do...
Read more4/7/23 As always when passing through I stopped by. I ordered a Bean Borrito with three ingredients, refried (smashed) beans, extra shredded cabbage, and salsa. The main ingredient is the beans.
My Borrito is served looks largely wrapped but as soon as I bite into it the borrito calaps. I open it to find very little beans at all, like painted on to the tortilla, seven strands of cabbage, and a lot of salsa.
The servers noticed it and I was not pleased with it. I had to eat with a spoon, it was a Bean Borrito Stew. Now the servers should of said sorry about that, you will not be charged. I did not eat the borrito, I left hungry and very disappointed.
Who ever prepared it must of had their eyes closed, no sense of details.
1/12/23 I've been coming to Cilantro's on and off now for the last 5 Years and it is one of the more home style cooking and just all around best Mexican restaurants in the Central Coast Area.
I always sit at the bar, I ordered the dinner plate half chile verde and Chile Colorado and it's so well balanced not too heavy of one ingredient versus another the juices from the meat with the blend of the chilies thank you cilantro reminding me of home and their very...
