Top Donuts — Restaurant in Watsonville

I'm so glad to have Top so close, this is the donut I grew up with on the other side of the country! You can always test a donut shop by their plain old glazed... These will melt in your mouth. Not too sweet like so many do, and so light and airy, they are perfection. You have to grab a couple of those. Then get an apple fritter. Uhhh, dang! The thing is huge yet light. It's the perfect fritter. There is soft, there is gooey, there is crunchy. Nice bits of apple too. These are a fave. I always want a "chocolate bar," as they are called out here, and ask to have it filled with icing. There isn't anything in their case I don't like. I don't know the owners personally, but they will treat you like they've know you your whole life. We love you Top! It's the choice when you need donuts for work, an event, or gathering. Call a few days ahead for those big orders. The cost...

Best apple fritters by far! Also the best Cinnamon rolls and doughnut holes.... however this is overshadowed by the poor customer service. Every morning I go in to get these same items and she yells, "this is all I have!" I explained to her I only eat apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, and my kiddos doughnut holes. The other morning she only had 2 fritters of the selection I choose from. I said I wanted the fritters and looked for something else. I politely asked if she had more doughnut holes coming up, she snapped, "no that's it! It's all I have!" And went to help the next customer....and gave that customers the fritters I had just asked for. She is really rude. Especially for a customer that just drove 3 hours before reaching her establishment. I've been back several times, just in case she was having a bad day....

Their donuts could be top-notched, but their attitude is way bottom. I went in today to have donuts since I saw the review is highly ranked. When I walked in, there is a speaker playing loud music. The service person can't hear me well when I ordered and asked me "to speak loud". I told her that music is too loud, and she retorted "No. It's not loud". Well, I search for the speaker and it's behind me and it's pointing at me and at her directly. No wonder she can't hear well, and asking customer to speak loudly. I cancelled the order and informed her that she has attitude issue, and she retorted and insulted me with "Sorry you feel that way". I went down the street to "Donut King" shop, and the server person was much courteous and professional and without loud...
