Stopped by after seeing the raving reviews of the restaurant. Walked in and it was busy. We ordered an asada burrito for the wife, a plate of asada for my daughters and I got the Campechana. The food was served cold. They got the burrito order wrong she had asked for the burrito with no rice. The restaurant does not offer any homemade salsa as the burrito had none inside .Only had the chips salsa or the Tapatio or Habanero sauce. They don't have andy jalapeños either. The food had no flavor. The campechana did have alot of seafood in it but again absolutely no flavor and almost tasted like it had come out of the freezer just not frozen but very very cold. The 1 star is for the food portions as you can't give them no stars. Don't see what the raving is about....

This is seafood specialty restaurant , downtown Watsonville. It's my favorite seafood place. It's quite small, basic casual diner feel. Last time there I ordered off the appetizer menu. Two excellent fish taco's were filling and and quite reasonably priced. My companion had a specialty of the day burrito. She thought it was great. It's worth going out of your way to for lunch, if you usually dine in the Santa Cruz area. On the short walk to my car from a restaurant I came upon a small Mexican bakery, which is my dietary weakness, as I love this stuff. If you go into any Mexican bakery and are expecting something like Gayle's or the Buttery, you will be unhappy. I know others who find my love of Mexican pastry baffling. Different...

The friend I was staying with in Watsonville suggested this restaurant, located in the heart of downtown in an unassuming location, for dinner. We started with some complimentary chips and salsa (spicy!). We ordered one chile relleno to share, and it was one of the best I've had. Lots of cheese and sauce to complement the flavor of the pepper. I ordered the camarones y pulpo (shrimp and octopus), ranchero style, which also came with two full-sized corn tortillas (flour if you want). The portions were large - the plate in my photo was about 18 inches wide! The shrimp were small but juicy, and the octopus was tender, not mushy. The ranchero sauce had a nice tomato flavor. Overall, a great meal, and I would...

Authentic Mexican food served in a vibrant downtown Watsonville. The service was excellent and the food was delicious with generous sized plates. It was busy on this Sunday afternoon but a table cleared in less than five minutes. The service personnel came by multiple times to provide additional chips, salsa, water and ask how things are going. Many restaurants can learn from this establishment in Watsonville.

I saw that they have awards articles all over the walls. I loved the Asian newspaper one lol. My husband got the searing fish taco very good seasoning. I got the fried and it was so big I was able to make two tacos out of it. My ceviche tostada was simple. I wasn’t a big fan of the shrimp empanadas. It reminded me of curry which I do not appreciate.
