Three words that sets this restaurant apart: FLAME Broiled Meats! Absolutely recommended as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area and possibly Northern California. Detailed review follows: We came here because of the good reviews and were very impressed with the vibe, the food quality, the service, and the price (amazing food for reasonable prices. The food options here are fantastic for a Mexican restaurant. They have almost every Mexican dish you can think of. No matter what you order, it comes out perfect. The meats here are char broiled and set this place apart from the competition. I ordered a Chimichanga and the flavor of the fried tortilla was accentuated by the fire flavor of the beef, mixed with the delicious beans and rice. They also have free chips and salsa. Even the chips were freshly fried and crispy. The restaurant setting is wonderful with outdoor covered patio seating and indoor seating. There is an indoor bar as well which serves cocktails, beer, and wine. The restaurant has lots of authentic Mexican decor throughout and really feels special for the area. Parking is nearby and free, we never have trouble finding some. The servers were incredibly friendly, they spoke English and Spanish, and were attentive throughout. If you are traveling by or visiting Watsonville, it’s worth coming here for an accurate Mexican restaurant experience prepared by people know who the cuisine intimately and use quality ingredients.

We stopped for a night in Watsonville on our way down to Pismo. We were driving around and googling, looking for a restaurant that was open at 945pm for a meal and drink. We found this place and it was bustling with folks inside. They have a full bar and had a mariachi band right on the floor in front with the patrons, all singing together lol. (The hostess said it is always like this on Fridays) It reeked of Mexican authenticity inside! We go to Mexico at least a couple times a year, so I was happy to find a lot of Latin people inside eating - must be good! I had the crab enchiladas dinner, and he had shrimp tacos. Both were really good. You could really taste the freshness. We had a cadillac and a jalapeño margarita (both doubles), and the Cadillac def had better flavor. All staff was very attentive and pretty quick. If ever in the area again, will def be coming back!

Love eating here. We dont come as often as Id like. But the service and food are always the best in my opinion. Today my hubby brought me for lunch and I tried for the first time a small nacho plate with shredded beef. He ordered the menudo. Both were delicious. I took half of the nachos to go. I was stuffed halfway thru. Plenty of food. Staff was friendly and inviting. The interior decor is beautiful, they have a nice outdoor patio setting if you prefer to eat outdoor. Parking is tight behind restaraunt. They do have parking lot across the street or on Main St.

I have been to this restaurant more then just a few times, and some how I always leave disappointed with the service and food. My experience yesterday was by far the worse ever and the last for sure. I decided to take my wife and grandchildren to eat this was Around 2:30 pm I was expecting a busy place. But to my surprise, only 3 other families were eating 2 left as we were being seated. So I did not expect the usual 45 min wait for our food to be brought out to us. The staff was not an issue either, there was plenty of socializing between them as we waited. My Son-in-law ordered Menudo, my grand children ordered fajita plate and salmon plate my wife ordered veggie tacos plate and my daughter ordered an enchilada and burrito plate also vegetarian, I ordered the same as one of my granddaughters a fajita plate. We waited for our food just over 45 min and remember the place was not busy for a Sunday. When the food arrived it arrived in faces my son-in-law menudo made it to the table with out the other toppings and tortillas. My granddaughters plates also made it to the table with out tortillas and the fajitas were cold (usually they are sizzling) my plate also was cold and my rice and beans didn’t come with sour cream or guacamole. Mind you my son-in-law was still waiting for his tortillas and other toppings. My daughters and wife plate made it with no issues until they found a hair in the burrito. I had to ask for the topping to the Menudo after we all had received our food items and for the tortillas, this was a least 10 min after, there were no apologies. And to top this off my my Son in law head also asked for two tacos that never made it to the table on time for him to eat, we all had already finished eating when he asked The waitress for them so of course they were pack to go. I would suggest paying 180.00 at the palace where they are going to serve you...

Oysters were pretty good, chips and salsa were good. Service was sub par. I was noticed by several employees waiting to be seated and ignored. Once seated, waitress was okay. Would have loved a second beer with my oysters (was never asked, didn't want to flag anyone down) Also noticed some weird looks from waitstaff throughout my meal. Biggest gripe is when it was time to pay, I was given my check, and basically ignored again. Fine, assuming it's the type of place to pay on the way out, which isn't preferential. I like to make sure my server knows they are appreciated and tip well. After hanging around by the door for a while I was finally asked if I wanted to pay (I'm standing there with a checkfold and a credit card in my hand so yeah lol) I proceed to pay my bill and hand over the signed receipt and I'm met with a blank stare from the girl that rang me up after saying 'thank you, food was good'. Like I was starting to wonder if I had food hanging off of my face or something ( I didn't, I checked lol) I'm a Mexican American man but I don't speak spanish well at all, and have a fairly heavy 'Californian' accent so I sometime wonder if that's why I get the looks and the treatment I do when eating out... definitely not isolated to...
