First time and my last time here. Thought I would give this place a shot since I pass this restaurant during the week to take my son to school and I now regret coming by here. I ordered a torta dinner with a mini taco. The taco was for my daughter and she could barely eat it because the chicken was too dry. My torta on the other hand with steak was over cooked like they’ve been re using the same meat for days. The rice tasted like it sat in a freezer just to be re heated and the beans barely had any flavor like they added water to it because it was drying up and got super watery that you would not expect it to be all over your food when you bring it home to enjoy. Way too over priced for poor quality food! Don’t waste your time and money here!

This place should be shut down . I went here and spent 50 dollars on 6 wanna be steak tacos and a torta ...... tell me why I saw this man take out the fridge pre-cooked meat . While ordering, I asked for onions and clitro on my tacos...... got lettuce and tomatoes and a lime . Meat tasted old and gross . There is too much meat tenderizer on that stuff . Slasa water and tasted awful . 😖 the torta just toss it for 9.99 . Save ur money and go somewhere else . 3.99 a taco for salty Gross old meat . Best place in waukegan , my behide wrost place . Just a gross experience.

9/28/24 I just left this place and it was my first time here and my absolute last I came in and I was greeted by a woman I told her I wanted 2 steak burritos and 1 elote and 2 chicharrones with hot sauce and lime and I proceeded to pay so then I asked about the hot sauce and lime she gave me the hot sauce but it wasn’t anything in the bottle mind you I paid already I never received any limes she gave me lemons … like really ?!!? I will never be back to this place !!!

This place used to be the spot to get Mexican food. Just a couple of years ago, you'd drive up and the lot was full. Now it's like a ghost town. Here's why:

The service is pathetic. If you want to attract customers, make sure your staff is in a good mood and willing to communicate with the customers. How are you going to toss the menus and come back later, not mutter a single word, with pen and paper, staring at the customer and waiting for their order? She didn't even say a word the whole time! Then charge me double? I didn't even notice until I got home. I would have gone back but there's a sign that clearly says no refunds after you walk out the door. Bummer.

Okay, says the service was bad but the food good...I might consider going just for the food but not even that. The taco meat is dry and salty. The tortillas greasy and the beans just rubber.

I hate to rate this place so low. Especially when it was once my favorite spot but who knows what happened. Maybe change...

The atmosphere looked somewhat institutional however it was nice and sunny, with the waiting person was accommodating and the cook working behind the high counter, the food was traditional, not overly spicy, though they did have red & green salsas, the servings generous. Now the coffee was very good, it had a little different flavor. Maybe a little bit of cinnamon, an essence. Mine was with cream and sweet & low. I had chorizo with chilaquiles and eggs. On the side beans and rice with chopped lettuce and tomato, I can’t forget the ample amount of corn tortillas. I was feeling full when I paid the reasonable amount, but the coffee was a good memory. Sure I would recommend it and I would welcome my friends or family to...
