Had a lovely brunch on a Wednesday morning. The restaurant is located in an older building on the old "Muirdale Grounds," wonderfully restored. You enter a communal hallway, and then go into the restaurant. Waitstaff take your order at the entrance; then you fill your beverage and find a place to sit. The central area contains a bar and an interesting view of the kitchen. We chose the far room, which has lovely large windows, several tables and also sofas and chairs for sitting, and a comfortable atmosphere. Our food was brought to us quickly. I ordered eggs, toast, hash browns, and bacon. My son ordered a vegetarian bagel sandwich, with hashed browns. Both meals were generously sized, and quite delicious! The staff were helpful and attentive throughout our visit. We sat longer than most (3 hours) - yet never felt rushed. I highly recommend Ally's Powerhouse. I plan to come...
Read moreMy wife and I needed a hearty breakfast with her being stuck in the hospital. I found this as a recommendation. I called the place for a take out order and got the Tosa special for my wife, and the Southwest wrap (asked the person on the phone for his favorites) and a cinnamon roll for myself. She loved the bacon and said it wasn't too salty. The Southwest wrap has a nice kick to it and is jammed packed with food. The hashbrowns were cooked to a perfect golden brown and lighlty seasoned. Both orders were freshly made, hot, and ready to go.
The place has an industrial, yet comfy feel to it. They have baked goods and bottled drinks on display when you walk in, and you can look into the kitchen, which appeared spotless. Go past the checkouts, and there's a stairs that leads to a large seating area, and a full bar. I would absolutely love to...
Read moreStopped in last Saturday for breakfast. The food was served very quickly and was quite good.
As an FYI, my only other comment had to do with ordering and payment. Orders are placed at the cash register area when you check in. Payment must also be made in advance at that time. Besides that, in using a credit card, you're of course given the option to add a tip. I'm not wild about either of these approaches. Paying in advance, well, okay. But being asked to tip BEFORE any service is rendered - I don't think so. The only table service we received was delivery of the food. The server was very friendly, but we only saw her once when the food was delivered - and they weren't busy at all. I would've just tipped in cash, but I didn't have any bills smaller than a $20, so that wasn't an option. I did leave a tip as part of the...
