As longtime Wauwatosa residents and frequent visitors, my wife and I have always loved The Camp's charming atmosphere and walkable location. However, that charm was severely tarnished on Monday, July 14, 2025. I witnessed bartender Luke subject a middle-aged African American patron to inexcusable profanity, hostility, and belittling treatment over a simple payment misunderstanding. The customer remained remarkably composed, believing he had already paid his tab and requesting change for a tip. Luke, whom I observed drinking behind the bar while working, launched into a verbally aggressive tirade. Even after being paid and tipped, he continued his profanity-laced assault despite coworkers telling him to calm down. It was clear Luke was intoxicated and attempting to intimidate the customer into a physical altercation. The situation escalated when Luke dumped out the customer's drink, yelling "Not only did you try to rip me off, you bring your friend in here and he doesn't even tip me." The customer, shocked, asked "You're upset because my friend didn't tip you? How am I responsible for that?" While I understand servers depend on tips, there must be boundaries. Where do we draw the line when staff become verbally combative over tipping disputes? The customer handled himself with exceptional grace and left without incident. Even after his departure, Luke continued rallying other patrons to justify his unprofessional behavior. Having worked in service industry myself during college, I know bad days happen. However, this doesn't justify drinking on duty, excessive profanity, bullying behavior, or disrespecting patrons regardless of circumstances. This incident has tarnished your brand. Luke's conduct was disgraceful and requires immediate attention - whether reprimand, alcohol prohibition while working, sensitivity training, or termination. I've always enjoyed both locations, but this experience was deeply...
Read moreSo, to start I would like to say we actually had a pretty good time here, and our server Abby* was great. However when I received my bill at the end of the night I was very confused. I noticed the pre taxed total for my drinks was some super random amount. When I did the math it came out to each White Claw being $5.66 which is 16 cents more than I have ever paid for it anywhere. When I asked the server how it came to such a random amount (which once we looked at our Bill's so did everyone at our tables drinks all cost some super random amount like 4.13 for a beer, she informed us that "that's how they do their pricing so that it always comes out to an even amount when you add up your total after tax". Personally this feels like a huge scam to me to just be able to skim an extra 15 cents from a customer under the "guise" of having a even totaled amount. Especially considering the fact that my beverage cost 16 cents more than I have ever paid at any other establishment and I know they didn't "round down" to come up with some even totaled amount. This may seem petty to some but once we all realized it, and looked at our bills in detail, it felt pretty...
Read moreSanta Camp was a thoroughly enjoyable and laid back holiday atmosphere. The decor is spot on for most who have enjoyed many of the quirky and cult classic holiday movies of the last four decades.
Camp Bar Tosa has considerable space for seating whether at the bar, tables or a lounge area. Outdoor seating is also optional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to their customers.
The bar's drink and food offerings have a mix of holiday fare. My wife and I enjoyed the themed drinks of Feliz Navidad, White Christmas, Reindeer Games and the Eggnog shake.
The latter three are mixed with ice cream and are delicious while also being incredibly filling. And former was a cinnamon accented take on a margarita which was delightful and refreshing. With that many drinks we also enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza and wonton wrapped pepper jack sticks.
Visit occurred during Covid-19 outbreak of 2020 so masks are required at the door and when moving amongst the bar area.
TL;DR Highly recommend the bar for anyone wishing to be immersed in holiday cheer while enjoying some company, good food and drinks and a calming atmosphere. 10/10 ...
