i was referred to the store by a nigerian friend, i was looking for something for a cold my friend had recommended some ginger root tea, i am african american, i went in the store there were two men in the store, the older man who was friendly help me finded what i was looking for, i took the item to the counter and handed him my bank card i suppose he was the owner, i handed him my debit bank card, he said to me unless you spend more then $5.00 you can't use the card, i went and got cash and came back to purchase the item again, there were some construction working in the store he was talking to, i handed him cash and paid for the item, the man had a poor attitude toward me as though i was not welcome, no eye contacting talking to the construction workers but never said a word to me when i am the customer, i place the item on the counter gave him the cash he sholved the item at me he nevered placed it in a bag as though i didn't deserve a bag, he never said thank you for shopping or anything, while all the time talking to the white construction worker as though i wasn't there, i decided never to go back again, i received such poor...
Read moreToday, was my first time I went to this store for grocery shopping. At the checkout, I inserted my card and waited for a couple of seconds until the transaction got approved and I removed my card. However, due to some technical issues, my receipt did not come out and the lady who was in charge could not see the transaction on her monitor. I said that the transaction was approved, but she asked me to wait until she could figure out what to do. She then asked another lady to help, but the second lady couldn’t solve the problem either! I showed my credit card transaction that indicated the transaction was completed and asked them to let me go because I was in a rush. She said: No! Please wait until another guy comes and helps us. I waited about 5-6 minutes until that guy came and checked the computer. He could not figure out either and said if you received the transaction approval, I let you go! Read moreAll the grocery items are at least $0.50 to $1.50 more than they would cost in Chicago or Minneapolis. Seems like these people buy them from the big guys instead of distributors. The lentils are oily sometimes which is not good actually to cook. But no choice for people like us who do not want to drive 60 miles or more get their groceries. They do have a lot of inventory which is counter-productive in some cases. I got a package of Haliram's bujia once and believe me me or not, it had already expired. I got home and realized it was out of time. Rice and flour are ok but again a couple of bucks expensive then other places. Not all of their stuff is entered in the system so most of items the cashier reads the labels. But what can we do. Not very many choices so I will continue...
