Went with a work group of 24 people. We've been there several times because they can seat a large group. We all agree we will never return. In the past, we've always called to warn them of our large group, even though they didn't take reservations. They are usually snotty about it, but are ready for us anyway. They recently started taking reservations for large groups, so I called the day before and reserved the "library" dining area. When we arrived, they had 3 small separate round tables not in the area promised. Not only was it not what we reserved, it was not nearly enough seating, and we were all at different tables. I asked for the manager, who snottily told me that we had been bumped by a large group who promised them at least $1300, and that it was "only" a reservation. He said they called me (I was the contact), which they did not. I had no missed calls, which I told him. I also told him if I had been told, we wouldn't have come here. He told me we wouldn't be able to hear each other at the other side of the table anyways, so we didn't need to sit together. I told him he was bad at his job and I didn't care who could hear who, we came to spend time together and wanted to be seated together. We pushed the round, small tables together and had to wait for others to leave in order to get enough small tables and chairs. The food has always been sub par and way overpriced. $15 for a salad? Seriously? $20 for 3 shots of whiskey? Really? For those prices, the food better at least be good. It's edible, but not enjoyable. Their drink specials cost the same as regular price drinks at most bars. We left early and went to spend our money at another bar down the street. We usually go on Friday nights, when they unfortunately have a band. It's so loud, you can't hear each other talk, and it's usually some terrible cover band. We talk until the band starts and end up outside so we can hear each other. We've had many different servers and some of them are great, some of them are terrible. Our server that night did a good job. He was attentive. Anyway, as I said, we've only gone there in the past because they could seat a large group and were close to where we worked, so it was convenient. The manager's behavior was unacceptable. He never once apologized and was very condescending. We agreed we'd rather go to TGIFriday's instead as it's better service and better prices, and we'll definitely be checking out...
Read more8/9/22 - Return visit to see how things are and to grab a dessert. Totally different experience. This trip we were greeted upon entering and felt welcomed. This time we had the chicken and dumplings again, bae and I shared, the cheesecake, all bae's, and the chocolate chip cookie, all about me. Again the chicken and dumplings were great. Seasoned well, just the same as last time. Consistencyin taste from a restaurant is important to us. Per my bae the cheesecake was ok but not mind blowing. We would order again but wouldn't specifically visit the location for that dessert. The same for the chocolate chip cookie. It did not move my heart. Overall this location did make our return list. This is definitely a spot we will frequent.
8/8/22 - I've visited this location a few times now. The service each visit has been ok. It wasn't extraordinary but I will give them a slight pass and say it wasn't bad. When first arriving we stopped at the station that said wait here for seating. Upon stopping there we watched an employee look at us not acknowledge us then walk away to the back. For 3-4 minutes we watched other employees walk past us and not say anything. After about 4 mins the same employee that didn't acknowledge our arrival returned and said hello how many are in your party. After being seated our waiter was very kind and helpful. We had onion rings for an appetizer and some chicken and dumplings for the meal. The food was actually good. The breading on the onion rings was tasty and the dumplings were seasoned well. Only because of the food and our waiter this place gets another visit. As I've mentioned before, almost everyone gets one before you are dropped off our foodie list. Come on Mo's, the food was good so get it right on the service...
Read moreDinner time review for numerous Saturday nights. Consistently good food and service. Noisy near the bar. Very good service. Consistent food quality. I enjoyed meeting with friends in the Wauwatosa restaurant fairly often on Saturday evenings. We have 8+ people so we needed a long table. Rarely had enough to reserve a side room or table.
We've usually been seated at a long table near the bar for 8-10 people. Late arrivals get small tables nearby. There are two issues with the long tables against the wall near the bar. It's noisier near the bar compared with the main dining room. Many times there were noisy parties across from our table. Party time for them, but hearing challenges for us trying to talk. Some people talk loudly during televised games. It's a sports bar and restaurant. Table position. Half the people are seated back against a wall near the bar. That meant half couldn't get in and out of their chairs easily. Not good getting trapped. There's no room to move behind the other diners on their side.
It's been much better a couple times when we were seated in the main dining room, instead of long tables near the bar. There aren't always enough adjacent tables to seat us together in the dining room. When there are, it's been marvelous.
For smaller parties, I highly recommend them in the main dining room or library room when there's. no band. The patio seating seems popular, I just haven't tried that yet.
Good: I like the Jameson chicken dinner, a spinach dip appetizer, some hamburgers, and the large cookie platter with ice cream. Will avoid the Jameson hamburger which was too large to eat in the hands -- with Jameson sauce, shredded onion rings, thick bacon, hamburger patties and a soft bun. The...
