Potbelly — Restaurant in Wauwatosa

I came here and ordered an Original Italian on wheat with everything - the best thing on their menu. But the location where you order is one of those where you need to kinda yell over a large plastic barrier. So the girl on the other side of the barrier heard me say "A Wreck on wheat". But she wasn't sure, at which point she said to me "A Wreck?" To which I responded "What?" And she repeated "A Wreck?"(this happened probably 2-3 times) But because of the huge plastic barrier I heard "A regular?" To which I responded with "Yeah". So she ended up making me a Wreck, and I noticed this probably halfway through the toasting process, at which point I decided to just stick with the Wreck... It was fine, but not as good as the Italian. Now, I could have told them that I actually ordered the Italian, but then the Wreck would have been wasted food - I can't have that on my conscience. So I guess the point I'm trying to make is that large plastic barriers and loud equipment where people order...

I usually have pleasurable experiences whenever I frequent this location. But for my most recent visit, not so much. For starters, the cashier had the audacity to handle cash, wipe her nose with her bare hands, and put on gloves without washing her hands first. This is not standard protocol. Apparently, it didn't occur to her that she should wash her hands prior to touching the gloves in order to prevent contamination and the transfer of germs. Secondly, the female workers appeared very unkempt and sloppy, which accompanied their poor attitudes and customer service. Of course I didn't order or purchase anything this time around, but I stood in line long enough to notice the lack of regard the employees have for themselves and the handling of other customers' food. I don't plan on patronizing this...

I love to be greeted immediately after walking in to a restaurant!

Gosh it makes me feel that belong there and Ken helped to create that experience when I showed up for a Dream Bar in the morning.
