I have had two different experiences with two different pieces of jewelry both made poorly...
I received a fluttering diamond pendant necklace for mothers day which my husband was excited to get me due to the sales lady recommending it was a good piece of jewelry. The first day I wore it, within two hours the chain broke! I went to the store to exchange it and while I explained to the lady about my chain breaking upon the first day of wearing the piece, she hadn't seemed surprised and exchanged it with another necklace they had in stock. Before I left the store, I re examined the necklace only to notice the chain was thin in a certain area and looked as if it were ready to break too!! I brought it up to her and she was surprised to see that and exchanged the necklace again for me. While I wore the necklace for a week, the diamond never "fluttered" hence the whole purpose of the necklace. I brought it back to the Mayfair store and the manager saw the diamond would get caught onto the chain causing it to not "flutter". He exchanged it AGAIN, now making that my 4th necklace within a two week period! I ended up having to return the necklace to the the diamond still not "fluttering" making it a falsely advertised piece. I kept trying to be patient with the necklace since it was my first mothers day jewelry but it wasn't worth the constant trips to the mall.
I ended purchasing a birthstone band from here as well, only to have one of the jems shift out of place within the first week of wearing it! I would take off the ring whenever I would go to sleep as well as any labor work that may cause damage to the ring so minor wear should not have caused this! I took it to the store so they could fix it. They promised it would be fixed within a week, and when a week had passed I called to see if my ring came in. The ring was in but I never received a call. I picked up my ring and within a few days, some of my prongs were lifting and were catching on clothes and were sharp to the touch. I went back to the mall to have them fix the prongs, and since they don't have an in house jeweler they have to send it out, making it another week for pick up! I waited another week, called the store to see if the ring was in and it was which this is a second time without them calling to make me aware it was in. Upon picking it up, the prongs were still sharp and they said they would reorder the ring and they would call when it was in. I hadn't received a call so I called them after a week to find out my ring was in again!!! I do not understand why they cannot make the phone calls as promised as to when my jewelry was in?! I am beyond irritated and annoyed at how much this store has wasted my time with the constant trips to the mall, the promised phone calls they never made and the poor quality in the overall jewelry they offer. Their store is never that busy that they cannot make a 30 second phone call to let their customer know their piece was in which they have been patiently waiting for!
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SHOPPING AT THIS STORE, POOR QUALITY JEWELRY FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THEY CHARGE. Its sad to say I have cheap costume jewelry that's better quality than the jewelry I have purchased for triple the amount with Rogers...
Read moreMy recent experience with a purchase of a wedding band has been nothing but a complete disaster. I'm a terminally ill stage 4 cancer patient and lost over 80 lbs. which resulted in losing my wedding band. I went to Rodgers & Hollands to purchase a new wedding band and dealt with Lisa Parajecki who turned out to be a very unfriendly sales associate. I explained my situation to her and purchased a wedding band size 11 and turned down the optional warranty. I paid with a credit card and it took over 1/2 hour for her to do the financial transaction. When she finally got done she gave me a small folder which I assumed was my receipt and said I could pick up the ring 1 week later. When I got home and opened up the folder to look at my receipt all that was in there was the paper work and receipt for the warranty which I previously declined. There was no receipt for the ring. I went back the next day and talked to who I assumed was the store manager and asked him why a terminally ill cancer patient would spend money a warranty that he would never get to use. He had Lisa refund $158.84 back to my credit card. This time she was a little more friendly and she did apologize. I returned 1 week later to pick up the ring and again Lisas attitude was very rude. She brought out the ring and it was size 7 instead of size 11. She started to apologize once again and said the correct size 11 would be there on the following Tuesday. I returned on Tues. and there was no ring there and no Lisa. I tried to keep my composer up and not explode. I canceled my purchase and got my money back. This again took over 35 minutes to do. I wanted to have my wedding ring on when I do leave this earth and my wife of 30 years can wear my ring on a chain around her neck. We left Rodgers & Hollands and went up the elevator to Zales jewelry and walked out with a size 11 wedding band on my finger all in a matter of 15 minutes and a sales person that was very friendly and didn't try to push a warranty on me that I didn't need. I wanted to stop by Rogers & Hollands on the way out of the mall and show them my new wedding band but my wife...
Read moreI love Rogers & Hollands. They have some absolutely beautiful pieces and we've had nothing but good experiences with their staff. When my now-husband and I first started dating, he bought me a necklace from this store that continues to be one of my favorite pieces. We decided to come back here to look at engagement rings, and they were incredibly helpful when we wanted to customize the ring by replacing a few of the diamonds with rubies. I have had to get 1 ruby replaced due to falling out, but their warranty is just awesome and it was as little hassle to me as they could possibly make it. I made the mistake of getting our actual wedding bands bands at another store in this mall - the enhancer I had fitted around my engagement ring just didn't sit right and the two rings were constantly sliding around each other. I didn't want to deal with the other store again, so we went back to R&H to get a new enhancer. They gave us a REALLY nice deal on the new ring and ordered it fresh in my size (the other store charged me several hundred dollars to have their enhancer sized up, which ended up thinning the band enough to cause issues later on). They soldered the new enhancer to my engagement ring and it looks just GORGEOUS. I get nothing but compliments on the engagement ring they customized for me - I'm really excited to have a full wedding set now that doesn't slide around and the pieces match so nicely. On another note, the staff here seem to recognize my husband & I when we stop by to look or just to get my ring cleaned - they are very friendly & one of the salesmen has actually said to me that he remembers getting our ring made & how unique it is. We...
