KING DONUTS — Restaurant in Waveland

Owners accent is really thick, between it and my hearing loss it wasn’t great at first. It was a misunderstanding about Boston crème being sold out. Seriously no big deal, I didn’t understand what he was saying and I got 2 bigger donuts to feast on anyway. My son had to communicate for me because I am very hard of hearing.

All other donut places in the area pale in comparison to King Donuts. They are the king for a reason. They have the BEST apple fritters I have found anywhere. They're big, with a soft and moist interior, packed with apples, and the exterior has the perfect glaze and texture to balance with the interior. Also, I get a boudin kolache every morning. I've tried them elsewhere, and there is no comparison. The bread is so soft, airy, and buttery. And the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Never a dull day when I start it...

We spent a week in Waveland and had to keep going back to our favorite place every morning. If you are up to an hour away, it is worth the drive! We live in Wisconsin and think they should open a store up by us, or better yet, teach us how to make their crazy yummy donuts! Our son was obsessed with their sausage stuffed bun.
