Some restaurants try to keep up with trends. This one never had to. Owned and lovingly operated by Steve—this Italian classic has been a cornerstone of the Wayne for years, serving up not just food, but comfort, connection, and consistency.
Time-honored is the best way to describe it. Ste and his team have held true to the recipes, the standards, and the soul that built this place from the ground up. You don’t come here for reinvention—you come here because everything is exactly as it should be. The sauce still simmers low and slow. The pasta is always cooked just right. The bread? Still warm, still perfect.
And the people? Just as exceptional as the food. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like family—by name, with a smile, and with the kind of sincerity you just don’t see anymore. There’s a rhythm to the place, a kind of quiet pride in how they do things. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just love on a plate.
Ste’s presence is everywhere—from the kitchen to the front of house. He’s the reason this place has never lost its way. His commitment to tradition, to quality, and to his customers has made this more than a restaurant—it’s a living legacy.
If you're looking for flash, pass on by. But if you’re craving real Italian cooking, wrapped in the warmth of a place that remembers who you are and why you came—you’ll find your seat waiting here. Just like it...
Read moreI would never go back to Positano's. The owner's son was very rude to me and more concerned with winning an argument than trying to understand (or keep) a customer. The meal started out okay. It was quiet. A Wednesday night, hardly anyone in the restaurant. Then two women sat down in the booth next to my daughter and I and started talking politics very loudly with a man, who turned out to be the owner's son. After five minutes, they didn't change the subject or lower their voices as we had hoped, so we headed to the counter and asked our waiter to pack up our food. While we were waiting, the owner's son appeared to take my money and I told him why we were leaving. He said very defensively that he was entitled to his opinion and I said that he was but he didn't have to be so loud. He continued saying that he was allowed to have an opinion (even though it was the tone and volume of his voice that was the point not his opinion). Then his brother chimed in from behind the counter and began mocking me, too. The two of them were sneering and laughing at me. Unbelievable. He ended by saying that "if the other guy was still in office we [the restaurant] wouldn't be here in four years." I'd say that if the management continues to treat customers with such disrespect, they may not be there no matter who...
Read moreI ordered online for pickup and paid by credit card online. Was charged again in store and repaid but the manager quickly rectified the situation (thank you). I ordered 2 garlic knot chicken Parmesan with vodka sauce sandwiches and an order of disco fries with vodka sauce. To my surprise my disco fries didn’t have vodka sauce but marinara and lacked mozzarella and I was disappointed. I was very much looking forward to the garlic knot sandwiches. They were really just garlic knot shaped pieces of thick bread with hardly no garlic taste whatsoever, very dry, chicken was dry, hardly any vodka sauce. I must say I had high hopes and was quite let down. I will say the flavor of what little vodka sauce that was on my sandwhich is absolutely amazing and I will definitely be willing to try another vodka sauce dish in the future. Maybe next time I will dine in instead of doing a pickup. Maybe today was a rough day for the staff. I came all the way from East Orange to try the restaurant after someone sent it to me on social media. The sandwiches look larger on social media and the website but I’m glad in real life they weren’t that huge because after cutting my sandwhich in half I cut the half in half and only ate a tiny piece of it. I would say it’s a good value in terms of...
