Sunrise Bagels Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in Wayne

So this review is not about the bagel shop but this ONE very rude employee working there who has no professionalism. I have been going over to this particular bagel shop on off of Hamburg over 5 years vs. the one the on on valley rd because I use to like the atmosphere better. The owner owns the same bagel place for both places and he is very sweet guy. Ever since the employee was changed from the valley rd. To this one, (Mexican lady) she has been making my mornings horrible with no morning greetings and giving horrible attitude while taking orders. Just came back from here now and she was there again taking my order and I again dealt with her being super rude. But as soon as another Mexican guy came after me, she rushed to greet him in Spanish delightfully, “hola, come estas?” She talked to him about how he’s doing and his job (he was a painter) and punched out coupons for free coffee next time he comes in so he doesn’t have to pay!!! She finishes up with him and flicks me my order and says here. Very unprofessional. I do not like walking into this bagel shop first thing in the morning with that certain employee working and having to deal with this type of situation. That’s not a way to start the day! Everyone beware and will report to the owner when I see him as we do talk whenever he is around. Great bagel shop otherwise if it didn’t have to deal with this one...

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Save yourself the trouble and go to Bagel Loops instead. Although it's cash, my order has never been wrong. Anytime I order something other than a cream cheese bagel at Sunrise, it never comes out right. I usually order the Taylor ham with provolone cheese and almost every time, I still get American cheese. I bring it back to get it fixed, and its done in such a hurry that it's almost so unappetizing to eat. The egg yolk is all over the foil, the bagel is sliding out of my hands from the yolk and grease, and there's a sliver of the correct cheese on 1/4 of the bagel. I kept giving this place another shot mostly out of convenience of being able to pay with a credit card and that they'd fix it but at this point, its not worth it. Especially after today, where the original and the "fixed" order was messed up. Seriously, go literally...

Found this little gem by accident. Stopped in to get a bagel but after looking at the menu, I decided to get the Western Omelet Platter. It came with a bagel or toast and home fries.

The Western Omelet is made with 3 eggs and includes your choice of cheese, which I chose cheddar. Served with a bagel or toast and these absolutely delicious home fries. My only complaint was that the toast was not buttered. The omelet is so big, that I couldn’t finish it. It’s truly enough for 2 people. The potatoes are so good, but again, large portion, couldn’t finish it. Best part, it was less than $8! Unheard of! So delicious, reasonable, huge portion…what more could you ask for?

I highly recommend you to try this place! You will not be sorry!

Covid info: Employees wore masks. Customers are not required to wear masks. Open for dine in, delivery and take out. Social distancing...
